Good low numbers as we move into Autumn. There are those already fear mongering about a possible twindemic of Covid and Flu during the winter. Please don’t take seriously this stuff from the media, it’s highly unlikely to happen and will only induce fear into the vulnerable and those with a nervous disposition.

Totally agree. Things already seem to be getting back to normal, izakayas are bustling in my neighborhood, and everyone is feeling more positive. We need to spread the positivity!

No, not normal when everybody masked up as if their lives depended on it.

Come on Japan, ditch those stupid masks for God's sake. And why do I still have to use hand sanitizer, temp measurements and put up with those damned acrylic panels in eateries for??

You said that last autumn and variations of every month since.

Although to be fair, back then you were commending the vaccine on being effective.

Agreed! Tiresome and repetitive posts are immature and regressive.

The problem : “ We need to spread the positivity!” Too many people in the marginalized minority have been “spreading the positivity.!.”

The problem : “No, not normal when everybody masked up as if their lives depended on it.”

What is it with all the anti masks rhetoric? They are only one tool to help mitigate the spread of positivity.!. They do help save lives What’s next ? Why single out masks ? You want people to ditch clothes too ?

The problem : “Covid and Flu during the winter. “ Australia just came through one of their worst influenza seasons ever.!. Around the world, since the pandemic started…. Influenza has been near nonexistent…. Why ? Because of the responsible majority of people masking up, using hand sanitizer, social distancing, and govts giving sound medical advice and most people following it ! And as soon as the 1st country that relaxed Covid rules hit winter …. Their worst flu season in years .!. So yes …. If people get lazy , stop doing the most basic things to help mitigate the spread of Covid …. The flu will hit us hard here ….

The problem: There’s still nearly 500k people hospitalized from Covid here.!. The numbers are trending downward but the net drop has flatlined….

Keep safe people! Mask up when necessary! Get your safe and effective mRNA vaccination asap! If you’re eligible:)

Japan: Time to drop the masks, the plastic dividers at restaurants and shops, the obsessive daily media practice of reporting precise scary-looking-but-misleading COVID numbers, and all the other visible signs of neurotic fear and hypochondriac obsession over a virus that has at this point waned to a flu or a bad cold for most people.

Most of the rest of the world already has dropped those things. Get with it, Japan.

Kyoto has 194 people in hospital, 105 people in hotels, 12,693 at home.

Two serious cases.
