Japan on Friday reported 39,924 new coronavirus cases, down 5,375 from Thursday. Tokyo reported 2,941 new cases, down 561 from Thursday.
The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo was 28, down seven from Thursday, health officials said. The nationwide figure was 440, down 35 from Thursday.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 237.

Numbers are downward trending. Should make it easier for the great unmasking to begin - but I’m not holding my breath. It will be interesting to see how the population can remove three years of intense, fanatical conditioning like this.
