Japan reports 4,460 new coronavirus cases

Japan on Wednesday reported 4,460 new coronavirus cases, down 4,423 from Tuesday. Tokyo reported 373 new cases, down 504 from Tuesday.

The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms nationwide was 73, down three from Tuesday, health officials said.

The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 30.

Glad things really are getting better. May can come quick enough.

For people's info. Least we forget:

"Infection and vaccination are thought to heighten immunity to the virus. According to Tetsuya Matsumoto, a professor of infectious diseases at the International University of Health and Welfare, elderly people need to continue protecting themselves through vaccination and masks, because they have a higher risk of falling seriously ill if they catch the virus"

I work out in my gym/rooftop fitness area mask less every since 2017.

About 30% in the sports club are enjoying breathing freely after three miserable years. Some 70% are "toriaizu". Staff still doomed to the face covering until May 9, I guess. We are getting there, everyone, just so slowly.
