Japan on Wednesday reported 41,193 new coronavirus cases, up 1,470 from Tuesday. Tokyo reported 4,310 new cases, up 243 from Tuesday.
The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo is 10, down four from Tuesday, health officials said. The nationwide number is 160, down seven from Tuesday.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 74.
