China's Zero Covid policy may be a success, if you think (and clearly do) then carting people off to cold, leaky warehouses for weeks on end, feeding them food for animals in so called 'Quarantine centres'. Locking down complete communities to the point where they may not even leave the house by a Government that is unable to deliver enough food and medicine to those affected.

I have to agree with Elvis, the fact that you bring up masks and sanitising gel etc leads me to believe that you are not in Japan!

'on my Shinkansen' yeah. Sure.

The report should include how many infected are boosted, with 3 and 4 as well.

it is safe to assume none are infected because the vax is working. Hence the fact it ain't reported, uuh!!

I know people 3 times vaxxed and infected, And this has been reported in some media, even in Japan.

Considering there are only about 15% of unvaccinated in Japan, 1,595 is very high. That's about 3x the chance of getting infected.

Mostly young people get infected and they are less or not vaccinated. It does not mean the vaccine would be efficient for them. They are infected because they have an active life and do not stay home.

There is no such thing as 'fully vaccinated' any longer Bronco and Wobot. Like any fluid situation terms and conditions change. Get on board boys

2 ( +11 / -9 )

@Wobot : is 'Brain Fog' even a real thing. By the way, your link has already been removed as it was rubbish. As it that website.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Gee 10 people in hospital quick shut the borders and boot out the gaijins!…not!

the vaccines are useless against this variant and the only reason hospitalisations are down is because of the mildness of the current strain not the useless vaccines that were made for a long gone variant no longer in circulation. Natural immunity is the way!

And how many of these cases have been spread by Japanese 'crowd-mind' disdaining, 'independent-thinking', too-bad-for-you feeling, UNMASKED GAIKOKOJIN of the sort who here, just recently, a majority of which had negative opinions of still mask wearing Nihonjin

Considering foreigners represent a little over 2% of the population and that the vast majority of them are university-educated and likely left-progressive politically leaning and among the most enthusiastic proponents of vaccines and mask-wearing and other transmission prevention measures, I would say, hm, very close to zero?

Fascinating to read how the antivaxers twist any data and make any excuse to brainwash themselves in to believing that not getting vaccinated is the right thing to do...

-1 ( +12 / -13 )

@Bronco: That's because the vast majority of people HAVE been vaccinated, so your sample group of unvaccinated is almost neglible.

It’s never going to end …..

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

The only relationship between Covid infections and Covid vaccines is that the help reduce your chances of getting a severe case! This myth that vaccines prevent infection is either just that … a myth or patently false information! The drug companies and every medical dr have never once stated that vaccines prevent infection. I’ve noticed also that the minority of highly irresponsible and uneducated individuals who’ve been falsely claiming for weeks - months that Covid is over … move on … open up… those people are nowhere to be found with the numbers exploding again. This is not rocket science people…. Mask up when necessary…. Get vaccinated or boosted asap…. Follow the 3 C’s…. Feel free to join us in the majority of highly responsible people of sound minds !

No dispute @painkiller - No different to any other country. But without the vaccinations many more would be in hospital and that is where (and long covid) the problems start.- so rather then dispense your panic message of 'mask up!' "Stay in' - I would say, get jabbed and proceed as normally with caution.

Looking forward to voucher #4- Hopefully the Moderna jab by then will be the new and improved version.

@Paul: I know - Same old recycled rubbish from the same people. Sad.

Well, China is not seeing the increase in cases other countries are.

But since it is still choosing not to report most of the deaths and they are still higher than other countries this is not an example that Japan should aim for.

And it may be because of the vaccinations that people are becoming infected, because they are letting their guard down.

That would be easy to prove by an epidemiological analysis comparing between populations with the same demographics except on vaccination status. There is no evidence of it happening, if anything the opposite causal relationship is more likely the cause, people that are in a position of higher risk (health care providers) and that get tested because they feel a responsibility for the health of others are more likely to also vaccinate.

In the US, the CDC determined that a common traint of people who have not contracted Covid is not being vaccinated, but instead they tend to have limited contact with outside the household members, wear masks, and wash their hands or use alcohol sanitizer

The CDC explicitly mentions the vaccines as the best way to reduce transmission, not all people can remain in their houses indefinitely, and since vaccination do not have the requirement of not using any other measure their effect can come on top of the protection done by everything else.

That is not what experts have demonstrated with data, unvaccinated people are still at a much higher risk of complications and death from Omicron, which completely debunks your personal opinion.

Risking the infection without a vaccine is an irrational decision that increases the risks for anybody that can be vaccinated, this becomes crystal clear when the people that like to repeat the opposite fail to produce any evidence of what they say.

For the sake of completeness

*2回接種 5,745 人*

*1回接種 66 人*

*接種なし 1,595 人*

*不明 1,371 人*

Like before, at least about 2/3 have been vaccinated twice.

Considering there are only about 15% of unvaccinated in Japan, 1,595 is very high. That's about 3x the chance of getting infected.

Hm?

'Boosted' should now be a non word when it comes to Covid vaccination. That time is long gone. Simple question is 'are you up to date with the recommendations of the experts in your country?'

Numbers zooming upward.

Remember, it was predicted here that there would be an increase in cases, and a new wave.

My sources have been extremely accurate on all things Covid,

Mask up! Stay in!

On my shinkansen today, everyone was wearing a mask. Hope they stay out of izakaya tonight.
