Japan on Tuesday reported 81,535 new coronavirus cases, up 48,964 from Monday. Tokyo reported 7,306 new cases, up 4,629 from Monday.
The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo was 36, down one from Monday, health officials said. The nationwide figure was 638, down six from Monday.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 307.

@Wobot. That's a lot of work to do. There are however a couple of papers showing the world-wide correlation data of vaccine coverage and cases/deaths. The data is from early 2022, though, and does not take into account any of the newer variants, particularly XBB.1.5, for which the vaccines are less effective.

Thankfully, case numbers an improvement over the last two weeks; however, If the economics driven Japanese government, in their esteemed wisdom, reclassify Covid as a seasonal flu, when, pray tell, might that season begin? - Summer? - Spring? - Fall? - Winter?

Sad to see cases back up again and so many people dying and sad to see japan to even fathom putting this virus the same status as the flu, literally defying all logic.
