@Wobot. That's a lot of work to do. There are however a couple of papers showing the world-wide correlation data of vaccine coverage and cases/deaths. The data is from early 2022, though, and does not take into account any of the newer variants, particularly XBB.1.5, for which the vaccines are less effective.

"High coverage percentages of COVID‐19 vaccination were negatively correlated with the reproduction rate of COVID‐19, and ICU patients per million of the local population" (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9015592/)

"...vaccination with 3 doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, compared with being unvaccinated and with receipt of 2 doses, was associated with protection against both the Omicron and Delta variants, although higher odds ratios for the association with Omicron infection suggest less protection for Omicron than for Delta" (https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2788485)

Thankfully, case numbers an improvement over the last two weeks; however, If the economics driven Japanese government, in their esteemed wisdom, reclassify Covid as a seasonal flu, when, pray tell, might that season begin? - Summer? - Spring? - Fall? - Winter?

The usual negativity on here about masks and vaccines.

Masks, R1, and vaccines. Do what you can to prevent spread.

Sad to see cases back up again and so many people dying and sad to see japan to even fathom putting this virus the same status as the flu, literally defying all logic.
