Numbers go up and down like a yo-yo. This virus will be around for some time, but it time for people to move on from panic mode.

Most things are back to normal from my perspective. The last vestiges of coronavirus restrictions for me are the mandatory third vaccine/PCR result upon entry to Japan and enforced mask wearing at my gym.

No need for either of these at this stage.

I'll be happy when people stop waiting until the daily covid report is uploaded so they can post essentially the same comment as yesterday.

wondering why we need to read this here everyday?

but it time for people to move on from panic mode.

Sage words from the London World Service!

Where do you always take that panic mode from? No need for panic mode. But of course a recommended need of NoCovid mode, if you ever want to stop those numbers. I know , you prefer to live with the viruses. So go ahead, I count instead the waves for how long you will stand that stubbornness.

Eastman...

Isn't the correct question, "Why do I need to read this here everyday?"?

JT decides to upload the daily numbers and you freely click on the article knowing that you will disagree with the information contained therein. Why would you subject yourself to this, unless you obtain some sense of joy and fulfilment in reading the information that you can then rail against daily? Assuming you are not an autocrat and in favor of censorship, what's the harm in others being able to obtain the daily Covid totals so they can make choices for themselves? Can't you just not click on the uploaded article if it's contents are highly likely to offend you so much?

News on the train tv says "COVID peak likely by year-end".

I can now plan my schedule.

TBH, if it wasn't for the daily updates, most people wouldn't even know that Covid still exists, except that many healthy people are wearing masks for no reason.

Not like you ever see anyone with a major problem on the streets or with friends, family, colleagues, etc, etc

Just get it, have immunity and don’t care anymore. Still wash your hands though

Wanting to be informed is not going into "panic mode", it is just being prepared to make better decisions.

Why would you? some people consider convenient to have the information so they can get an idea of how the disease is coming and plan accordingly, if you feel some kind of need to click and comment that is all your personal choice.

TBH, if it wasn't for the daily updates, most people wouldn't even know that Covid still exists, except that many healthy people are wearing masks for no reason.

The main reason why Japan has avoided the worst consequences of the pandemic is precisely becasue most people take care and are willing to listen to the recommendation of experts, that includes using masks in those situations where transmission is a risk since they are a well proved measure that reduce transmission.

The media is desperate to keep Covid around. Guess it creates extra ads and clicks.

The experts are the ones saying the disease is still a risk to take care of and that this could become much more important in the near future, there is no point in blaming the media when it is just repeating what the professionals are saying about covid.

Just get it, have immunity and don’t care anymore.

Getting it gives no guarantee you are protected, being vaccinated is a much safer way to get immunity.

Ya’ll wanting the pandemic to be over does not make it over.

Everyone that wants everything to return to what was once normal has probably never been bed ridden by this virus long term.

Yeah, most people in Japan already caught it, so they should be OK.

I was actually happy when I tested positive last month. I just felt a little tired for a few days, and now I know I have acquired a stronger and longer lasting protection than what I would have received from the injections, and without the high risks of serious adverse effects...

Japan is the only G7 country where Covid is still a thing. Everyone else has moved on.

Virus

oh, you’re a mind reader now, you know what I’m regretting about, very unscientific.

Big difference between being prepared for anything than living in fear like some here. It’s not exactly a war footing is it
