It's really interesting the differences in what people felt with that shake.

It was a rapid and violent onset in Sendai; it almost spilled my tea!

Was in central Tokyo and just kept going and going and going..

Had me worried.

Our phones went off in southern Miyagi but only after our apartment started rocking. There was quite a violent bump in the middle of the quake.

Was in Itabashi at the time visiting a friend. Supposedly a 3 there but I didn't even notice it... and I can feel a 1 if it's quiet. Weird.

Didn't realize that my exact location was so important... Chiyoda. Would you also wish to know that I was on my royal throne at the time, as well?

Yokohama here. I felt it whilst upon the throne as well.

Glad everyone is okay. Really wish Japan would scrap all its nukes instead of playing roulette with our safety.

No abnormalities were found at nuclear power plants in the region, including both Fukushima Daiichi and Daini, according to their operators.

"No abnormalities"? The whole damn place is one huge "abnormality" , I take it they are saying it's no more abnormal than usual?

I would feel a whole hell of a lot better if someone from the IAEA reported this, rather than ANYONE from either the government or Fukushima!

Did anybody get an early warning on their phone before it hit?

Nope... Came up quickly on the TV though and after about 2 minutes my wife asked me if I had felt anything... At that stage we hadn't but about 10 seconds later it hit us... Not violent shaking but long, slow and rolling. West Tokyo area.

Wow! I picked a good week to go overseas.

Did anybody get an early warning on their phone before it hit?

Glad there were no casualties and/or major damage. Take care, peeps. You never know when or where these things will hit, and there's not much we can do but help and support each other.

I felt it up here in Fuji San.

The Fukushima area does appear to be a weak area... I wonder if what was said a while back, that the tectonic plate holding Japan up, was in question is true or not... if not, and should it give, then Japan will go the way of "Atlantis" and most of the eastern Countries will head undersea themselves from the resulting Tsunami.

Nuclear Power stations, etc. in such a situation would be a mere after-thought.

I'm truely hoping that the "Scientific report" that came out shortly after 2011/3 was "Fake news"....

No New Damage reported by TEPCO. So the highly radioactive exhaust stack did not tumble to the ground.

I was in Aeon in Izumi, Sendai paying at register when it hit. Very strong here, fortunately all seems okay.

Felt it slightly where I live.

Telling us where you live would make this comment a lot more worthwhile.
