Chiyoda sen too, in the past few weeks has exhibited problems and significant delays (up to 30 minutes)... mostly broken down rolling stock. Perhaps a sign of the times, that Japan Inc., is starting to fall apart ?

Tokyo’s infrastructure is becoming old thus breakdowns will become more of the norm in the future

Not only old, but overtaxed. Many of these lines were not designed to run as often as they do, but as Japan’s Tokyoinization problem continues to worsen expect more of the same

Compared to just about any other country, it's punctual, clean and efficient - apart from the obvious occasional blip as detailed here.

I too, think the transportation system in Japan is great.

Good. I would shut it down for a week and tell all of them to take a chill pill and learn to be human and interact with people. people who are different. unfortunate. handicapped. alone and bullied. the ones who have no friends.

Wishing for the yutori sedai to kick in and lessen this worship of the 9 to 5.

Still, you got to hand it to public transport here. Compared to just about any other country, it's punctual, clean and efficient - apart from the obvious occasional blip as detailed here.

I would rather die than be 5 minutes late to work.

The high school and university teachers must have been going nuts! Changing a test schedule is like cutting off an arm.

Another reason to just ride a bike to work(if not too far).

I hate how the train company gives no care if they delay customers.

They don't even give you the difference in fare if you don't own a commuter pass.

They are just obligated to move you from point A to B no matter how long it takes.
