Yubaru: "BTW, this is just a preview it looks like, another coming, IF forecasts stay true, next week Thursday or so!"

Yup. Was JUST talking about this one and how I thought it didn't seem as strong as the one that hit Kinki earlier this month (Jebi, which did MASSIVE damage), and then Kong-Rey's announced just as I'm talking. Sigh. Seems on the exact path Trami is now on after it "course corrected". Take care down there.

My fellow Oki-brethren,

I hope you all made your Family Mart runs before hand.. Its sometimes nice watching the wind and rain with a few cold Orions to sip on... as long as the power holds out.

@Yabaru

ive been here a long time myself and we have had worse, this one is strong and a few cars got turned over but still not as powerful as some of the past typhoons,we were spared the last couple of years.

The next one is supposed to be on Thursday , projected to be a direct hit for us but that might .

My father used to say there is not much in Okinawa but rocks and stones. No wonder it is to protect from strong winds of typhoons.

Which means your father knew nothing about Okinawa! Personally speaking, that is about as rude a comment as anyone could make about Okinawa!

We weather typhoons better than mainlanders by far, at least we more common sense not to climb up on roofs to tie down the tiles!

I live in Okinawa and we are still being battered like shrimp about to be made into tempura!

It's been a few years since we have had a "direct" hit by a typhoon of this size, and it really wasn't THAT bad, been through worse, a hell of a lot worse really, but that's life here.

BTW, this is just a preview it looks like, another coming, IF forecasts stay true, next week Thursday or so!

I do not want to live on Okinawa not because of the bases but frequent typhoons.
