Fukuoka city where I live is kinda village people, most of the contagious people are from outside my city, abroad my city or aliens from my city. And where's the vaccine, anyway?

I could use some more free money. Japan only gave me a ¥400,000. America gave me over ¥1 million. Time to step it up Japan and give me more money to invest in crypto!

Some of us need another 100,000 yen at least , these are very difficult times financially , but no lets get all the rich and famous vaccinated first and the poorer elements of society can either starve or get the virus and die

I do not understand, why Japan is provided by vaccines so slowly? Why don’t they buy Russian vaccine, for example? We have 3 different types, everyone has a chance to get a vaccination here, and my country is ready to sell vaccines. Aside of the politics and any good/bad relationships. Aside of Cold War between America. Can’t this COVID situation be a neutral zone, where only the people’s health is important? All of my relatives and friends, including me got vaccinated and yes, many had a muscular pain and one day of fever. But that present in Pfizer’s vaccine too. Everyone is okay. I really believe this should be ended as soon as it’s possible. I wish everyone in Japan and all over the world to overcome this nightmare.

A combination of factors, which include:

Japan's regulation of needing to domestically test imported vaccines from overseas (due to some ridiculous notion that Japanese people's physiology is somehow unique as compared to everyone else in the world)

a long standing history of the public being wary of side effects from vaccines (most probably due to misinformation, lack of information and clarity from the government)

currently approving only one type of vaccine - Pfizer

Honestly, at the rate they're going with the vaccine rollout, the vast majority of Japan's population will be lucky to get their first shot this year.

How do farmers need compensating?

People are still eating.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Everyone is asking for aid, why is nobody trying to find the root cause and truly stop this virus ???

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

How about just giving up on the olympics and using the money for this purpose?

The country needs stronger countermeasures against the pandemic at a time "highly contagious variants are raging," Kamon Iizumi, the president of the National Governors' Association, said during an online meeting.

Implement a coherent vaccination strategy, silly fool .

Kamon Iizumi, defines a failure of leadership.

All these governors have had months on end to lobby Suga hapless LDP Government to accelerate a vaccination program.

But have instead insisting the tax payer compensate for there failure.

Businesses, SME level (Small Medium Enterprise), NOT bars and restaurants that can open for the greater part of a day and earn revenue. A number of small companies now are surviving through their owners' personal savings, and they are running out.

Japan is one of the most generous countries with regard to the total amount of public money spent for corona relief/bailout programs. Real problems have more to do with unfair and unbalanced re-distributions alongside loopholes vulnerable to economic crimes. Red-tapes and overall delaying processes are also frustrating.

Many are now criticizing "agency problem," as go-betweens or intermediary agencies have earned a lot by doing almost nothing substantial. It is due mostly to lack of direct transaction systems between state and target groups of people.

How about giving some more money to the PEOPLE for a change instead of businesses only?! God, you useless bunch of idiots!

How about thinking of the cost before constantly demanding a shutdown

Black! 2 of them have a mask on! Call the National Enquirer!

Businesses need aid of course, rent, tax, pay role. Insurance, accounting bills. My concern is also those on part-time contracts hours reduced of cut completely. They have rent too, need food, have bills. To focus just on business fails to recognise those who work or now not work. The last round of quasi renumeration was a blanket coverage that was wrong. Earning less than 4m a year have children in a precarious work situation how about a helping hand.

No, The virus will never be under control until we get Vaccinations into arms

2 ( +8 / -6 )

@cricky

Lots of people got "financial aide" that didn't need it. They won't make that mistake again.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

They only have themselves to blame for their financial ruin. If they had taken the virus seriously and closed businesses for a month in the first place the virus would be under control and businesses would be thriving by now. However, after more than a year of dithering around and still no real effect on controlling the virus businesses are going broke left right and center. A month of inconvenience is much better than a year of dwindling incomes with no end in sight.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

No Cricky.... Businesses need support too. Right now, of course. The next 3 weeks will put even more out of business. But if this Government could get a crack in, then future monies can be appropriated to get things moving again, not stuck in an ever ending cycle of Emergency, Semi Emergency and 'almost back to normal' like last Summer / Autumn.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Japan's prefectural governors don't seem to understand how the economy works, businesses do business, generate revenue and pay tax. If you shut down businesses, tax receipts go down. Without adequate tax receipts the BOJ cannot issue money to the government without destroying the credibility of Japanese government bonds. Asking Mr Suga to shake the magic money tree some more makes this situation a whole lot worse.

"highly contagious variants are raging," This is a farcical comment and should be treated as such, it's no surprise the government has embarked on such short sighted policies with such shallow thinking drama queens at the helm. Economic health directly correlates to public health, the damage being done here will last for generations.

How do you know your getting the real vaccine vs a placebo just to so that Japan can say Yep every one is vaccinated let the Olympics begin!

Same as knowing the water you drink is actually water, food actually food, and your money is actually money.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I am closing on the dates that they said, from the 25th of April till the 11th of May.

Could you print me some monies please? The annual business tax bill is coming next month.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Only thinking about the business

what about the people of Japan

12 ( +12 / -0 )

If the people unite, we can obtain financial backing too. However, this is...Japan.

This time, everyone wants their ‘cut’ of the public dole before it’s earmarked ‘just for dining and travel businesses’.

“National Governors' Association, said... A set of requests made to the govt by the assoc included financial relief for not only the tourism industry but primary industries such as farming.” -

As much as this, mess has been exsaperated by the government, I really hope the people follow it and do not start mass holidays and trips to non lockdowned prefectures.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

It’s too late for hoping and urging.

The Japanese government couldn’t have given a toss about my drop off in income.

I voted with my feet and got away from the mess in Japan...

21 ( +22 / -1 )

What about financial aid to citizens? Or are they below the vision of these high and mighty?

13 ( +19 / -6 )

Divert as much money to possible to a proper vaccine rollout. Now.

Anybody in the medical field from Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists, Paramedics, Nurses, and all those retired from these professions must be bought back now. Caution about the vaccines by Japan must be blown to the wind. Appprve AstraZeneca, approve Moderna and get moving. Already proved it works elsewhere.
