I see the UK also has no guidelines beyond what they recommend for the flu... information on cases is public and some media outlets may report on it, but beyond that everything is as it was pre-pandemic.

I know 2 persons who were hospitalized even though they had virtually no symptoms (one had a throat pain the other a light fever of 37.5 and a bit of cough). Both were dead bored to have to stay 10 days in a very tiny hospital room (one did not even have a TV!).

Admittedly they were not young (late sixties) and it was in May but still I believe that a large part of the so

called "healthcare system collapse” was self-inflicted by a lot of useless hospitalization (of course some were very necessary) all this at the tax-payer expense.

Numbers dropping like a stone - not good news for some people who like to dwell in misery but never mind them.

That's 26% fewer than the same day a week ago and down 54% from two weeks ago... less than half the cases in just two weeks!

Okinawa is doing just fine :)

The only thing that matters is the direction daily cases are moving, and what burden past higher figures had in order for us to be prepared and calibrate our expectations.

Silly to complain that cases are higher now (while rapidly dropping) than they were before the virus really got going. You might as well complain that cases are higher now than 10 years ago before SARS-CoV-2 came into being.

Steven,

Not only has the entire healthcare system collapsed, in some parts of the country …. Crematoriums are also overwhelmed with the dead . So overwhelmed that people are having to pay to keep their loved one in cold storage. I won’t single out “what number matters because all of the numbers matter . Actual hospitalizations are still drastically too high :

Hospitalizations 1,386,117

Pushing a false narrative again. The healthcare system has not collapsed and the story you reference is in 1 city in Japan. Why don’t you include the link so people can read and judge for themselves. https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20220907/p2a/00m/0na/014000c

Most likely due to Obon holidays and seasonal maintenance.

Actual hospitalizations now under 40,000.

@Steven

My home country which is ranked as the second most developed in the world threw all regulations, tracking, recommendations etc out the window when infection rates per capita were much higher than we are currently seeing in Japan, back in February. They still publicize information about test results from those who still request to be tested, but that's also the case for other diseases.

The fact is, people will stop caring about these numbers when the unreasonable protocols that are being implemented up to now are lifted. Many countries have done so.

Start putting up the numbers weekly not daily, then after that monthly! It’s finished

Good low numbers. For those interested in the new boosters, I would advise checking out the testing Pfizer did for these, it’s farcical, no human tests have been done.

ClippetyClop

They haven’t been done as they are still in progress, is unethical nd unscientific to realease a product such as this without testing on humans, it was tested on 8 mice only.

Nice to see marginal drops in new cases .

Change from previous day -63,617

We are far from the “end” as some want to claim . The only thing ending soon is too many unnecessary deaths caused by the collapse of the entire healthcare system. The actual situation on the ground is not was some dream about of just make up stories to fit a patently false narratives. The daily “open up” and “move on” is getting old . Or falsely stating only Japan is stuck on Covid when each and every industrialized country in the world including Australia and the UK still report Covid case numbers too .!, Kishida has made great strides to boost international tourism despite the country not being able to even handle domestic healthcare issues. Keep safe people.!, For those of you like me who responsibly gor vaccinated, the new vaccines are on the way ! Great news for the vast majority of highly responsible people.!.
