Uwao! That’s low.

Fewer than 1,800 tests yesterday, but this is still a very encouraging sign of a consistently downward trend.

Hope to see +0 soon. Good job.

Not surprised.

I've just realized I haven't seen anyone so much as sniff cough or sneeze for some time on the trains now, which usually are common this time of year (but I myself got colds last week)

A bit harsh, but they would tend to have less disposable income anyway.

I’d leave it up to the businesses.

190m vaccine doses have done the trick it seems. Delta has just fizzled out.

Alex

Jabbed or nit you can transmit Covid. In fact many vaccinated stop taking precautions as they wring believe they cannot catch or transmit Covid. I would advise all those vaccinated or not to continue sensible precautions. Eat healthily, exercise daily and if obese then shed the fat. The vaccines are less effective in obese people due to their poor immune system responses.

So why are fully vaccinated returning residents still being made to self isolate?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The key issue is whether foreigners will wear masks after the border is opened.

Cant wait for the goto campaign to return!

Need to learn from other countries that opened up too quickly. Carefully and slowly is better. Proof of vaccination to enter Japan and negative tests on arrival should be a requirement.

Nevermind that doubled-jabbed also contract and spread the virus same as the unjabbed. Reality.

It's a non-issue. You just have to press a button on your phone a few times a day (around 9am and 3am for me) and answer the video call once a day (between around 12pm-12:30pm for me). After the first 2 days, I got into the pattern of hitting the gym between 10-11:30am, then being free to go out with friends at night, as long as I left my phone at home. Screw self-isolating lol

No wonder the world has had so much trouble trying to keep cases down. Great work....not.

No point in isolating after being double vaxxed and returning a negative PCR test.

Agree, but you left that rather important detail out of your first post.

Eustace,

I agree, it may seem a bit overwhelming for double vaxxed and negative tests, but by being a resident by now hopefully you know in Japan, rules are rules. If you don't want to play by them, Japan will show you the door. Been that way for a long time.

In a country of 125,000,000 people you are headlining 14 cases of ill health.

For how long? How many boosters does one have to have in a lifetime to travel freely? Pandemic is over.
