Almost no-one then: approximately 0.000018% of the population.

Great, that the severe patients remain so low. Very clear omicron is a different beast to the earlier variants and far less worrying.

Remeber when cases got down to about 10 in Tokyo?

Maybe late last year or early this year.

People continued to wear masks and get boosted or whatever.

Nothing changed. Lol.

You can probably figure actual numbers are at least twice as many people infected. Maybe 3 times. But the lower numbers are very welcome and good to see. Things are improving.

Funny how Japan is probably one of the only countries reporting about Covid anymore…

Once the pollies in Australia wanted it over the media was quick to comply and it became a non starter very quickly.

give it a few weeks and my guess is Japan won’t be any different!

True if 100% of the population was tested.

Sorry Fuzzy …. More people died from omicron through May 2022 than the next top 5 months combined. So no … this isn’t mild . Omicron is by far and away the deadliest variant of Covid in Japan to date.

Not sure about every country but the country in that link , Australia…. Absolutely still reports the daily numbers related to Covid.

This is still a pandemic. It will morph into “endemic” when it’s not raging wild in multiple countries. I’m happy to see an overall drop in nearly every metric . Particularly the number of actual hospitalizations has been on a steady decline for 7 straight days !!! That’s the big news ! Down to 240,764 active hospitalizations…. The trend is definitely going in the right direction. Hopefully these relaxed border restrictions and robust plan for foreign tourism doesn’t set us back !
