Why do people really think large numbers can be hidden?
If the hospitals are overcrowded and large number of people dying, would it even be possible to cover up excerpts from healthcare workers and their family members.

I guess it is his thought, just that. He doesn't have any evidence about it.

Why not?

People with common sense knows that the actual numbers are a lot higher. J-gov is manipulating they way they gather data or excludes information to show the actual infection rate.
Now the rest of the world is learning what residents already know about Japan's mysterious success.
Relatives of virus dead question Japan's stay-at-home policy

How convenient that the infections numbers are so mysteriously low that researchers do not know themselves.
If you are not admitted into the public hospital then you can not be counted as infected or as a death statistic.

Round round we go. Where it stop, we all know.

its good to see that situation seems to be kind of stabilized as official numbera s are low.
still too early for any over optimism by my opinion as you see what is going on in Europe or other regions in the world.

I'm sure there are a number of countries with limited testing but not by choice, just plain lack of resources.
You could look up how they are doing it you're really interested

As long as nationwide hospitals are not in panic and death number are not big number, I believe the daily coronavirus cases report.

Not sure why commenters are being so sceptical. You don't need numbers to have proof. I and people i know has been going out for the last month constantly. In crowed area's and all kind of places. You don't see me or anyone getting infected. If you are all so negative about the government doing a terrible job reporting cases, why don't you all ask yourself if you, your family or anyone you know so far had been sick the last month or not. Because if there was really anything wrong, you at least hear things from someone about it. Otherwise you all should stop trying to spread fear and negativity around.

We have seen the number of cases bellow 500(497) since October 17th. Since them we had the election campaing and the end of state of emergency that according to some of us would affect the number, but this number didn't change, on the contrary, the number even came to 9 cases in Tokyo(I don't remember the day that JT reported) that was pretty low.
Some may arguee that it is due to "lack of test", but how can you explain the number of hospitalized people in Japan being low? None of us can immagine what would be the number of cases if Japan did over 100.000 tests by day, but we can say that despite of what number would be, the number of hospitalized people would remain the same, which is a great thing.
Whether Japan would have 100 cases or 100.000 cases, that number in the end would not be as important to see as the number of those who are hospitalized.
Of course, the number of cases may not be accurate, but the chance of this number be too big is exagerated since other datas show sign of improvement.

Miraculous! If you don’t test you do it have a pandemic! Now I wonder why no other country has adopted this wonderful solution to the problem.
Zero hospital admissions for COVID but how many for “pneumonia” or other complaints?

The number that counts is “0”. A real 0. If y’all believe these miraculous numbers …. I’ve got a few things I’d like to sell you because you’ll buy anything.

Still this same fixations on "cases" with a virus that is now endemic and all of us have been in contact with. A completely useless number.
Meanwhile, the number that counts (new hospitalization) is zero.

Low number testing or inactive testing is too weak to explain this isn't it?
