Please continue to be cautious Tokyo!

Remember to wash your hands thoroughly, wear a mask, avoid crowded places, open the windows, try to tele commute and stay home!

All the optimistic posts downvoted to oblivion.

Most JT’ers seem to WANT the pandemic to continue on and on.

Even if the number of cases were brought to literally zero, they’d say “not yet!!”

The problem there is nothing to do with viruses or healthcare, it’s entirely another kind of sickness.

The fact is that we need a line to be drawn for when we say “it’s finished”. It was supposed to be when enough people got vaccines. That’s the medically logical point and we see the effects now. 21 positive in a city of millions. To say “not yet” now, is just…

Tokyo reports 21 coronavirus cases

These daily "case" figures are as pointless as always. The virus is out there, and all of us have either gotten in contact with it or will get in contact with it. But like virus epidemics always go, it is now endemic and less deadly, and variants will inevitably pop up.

Soon we'll reach the same numbers as N.Korea: 0 (zero)

@Reckless, Hakone's a nice place.

But, I wouldn't believe the numbers in this article without knowing how many people were tested. It certainly could not have been a thousand or more, in my opinion. Governments everywhere are struggling to make their citizens happy after 18 months (and counting) of serious curtailments of freedoms.

Sadly, for my love of my friends in Japan, I've just booked six weeks in Mexico, January to March, instead of what I hoped to be cherry blossom fun in Japan for the same length of time, a bit later in the New Year. And as far as I'm concerned, it's 100% the fault of the government of Japan.

@Rob *Only a FOOL would think the Gov is manipulating numbers. There are 15 people hospitalized with Covid in Tokyo, a city of nearly 14,000,000. Those numbers are SPOT ON! *BUT it takes a so call sane person with twisted logic and a wrecked brain to say something foolish
