Great points made. I believe those obsessed with the numbers have lost touch with reality to some extent. Things like this can affect some people that way and they find an outlet by believing conspiracy theories. It’s been a hard time for all yet we don’t see a catastrophic result as many predicted. We will be back to total normality in Japan soon.

just wondering about the testing- has that figure been down as well or was it the same as last week’s same day

At the starting of the week the testing was down by between 15%&20% the past few days that increased to 20% ~ 30% down.

Last week on the same day testing was 10,000 so expect below 6,000 test for today's results.

Tomorrow will be a real joke as the tests will be below 3,000

So 12 September will be extended again anyway?

now that the infection rate is decreasing, the CT (conspiracy theorists) are in search of another excuse. For some reason, now it's the number of tests being administered. Smgdfh...like every ward in Japan has decided together to limit the number of tests. Why now? Why not when the number of infections surpassed 5,000?! Just ridiculous the logic being used.

The Tokyo government disagrees with you.

In fact, the government's own Covid-tracking website states that "The infection has been out of control for several weeks" and "There may be a large number of infected people other than those tested and reported positive. This should be regarded as a disaster accompanied by an emergency state."

Let that sink in: The government is acknowledging that (for whatever reason) it is NOT testing everyone who may be infected.

Please break out the numbers under 20 by and under 10. There is a big difference between Elementary, JH, HS and University students and how and where they are likely to be infected.

People in their 20s (817 cases), their 30s (595) and their 40s (531) accounted for the highest numbers, while 634 cases were aged under 20.

This does not account for all reported cases at this time. Please report over 50 and under 20. Those are both significant populations and should be accounted for. It is a disservice to not report it.

Numbers falling, as we would expect with more and more people being vaccinated. I fully expect to see this downward trend continue.

The main thing that matters isn’t infections, but who is sick and who dies.

If those numbers aren’t high, then so be it, the pandemic will run its course, some will choose not to be vaccinated….

In hindsight we will see what was the right thing to have done.

I can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic. In either case, funny stuff.

The numbers may be down as mentioned, however people under 30 account for 47.08% of today's cases. Tokyo now has had, just for this month, 120,782 cases, which represents 35.65% of Tokyo's 338,750 cases since it started. And they had 2,226 people line up today for vaccinations, and only 354 people were lucky enough to win the lottery. Why couldn't this have been done online, and then be given the address of where it was to be? A HUGE possible super Sunday spreader in my eyes.

Who organizes these things? I have my ideas.
