Life is going on with the rest of the world, except for those who are still obsessed with these numbers! Get a hobby guys!

Extremely soothing numbers, very safe.

What a ludicrous thing to state! Oh right, Tokyo is the only city or prefecture in Japan.

Tokyo is neither - it's a Metropolis - but nice try!

Just wait until the new BA 2121 variant gets here, or BA 3 or 4. This thing’s a long way from over until governments start funding things such as new nasal vaccines. These numbers are largely meaningless.

OmicronはOmicronです。

Just how much more transmissibility actually poses a problem at this stage?

Reported symptoms of these subvariants are the same.

Dont matter how low the numbers or how life goes on like before, some will always be thinking Armageddon is around the corner.

I lived my life the usual way through the whole pandemic and had a great time, no regrets.

I lived my life the usual way through the whole pandemic and had a great time, no regrets.

Apart from the first state of emergency where I did stay indoors as I didn't trust the initial data, I've been pretty much the same.

I've worn a mask outdoors until I came back from my home country last month - I still do in shops and on public transport though not sure there's much of a point anymore. I'm really hoping mask recommendations/requirements get lifted at some point this year - especially for gyms. Makes it much harder to exercise.

I do think things will get better this year though and Japan will follow the example of other countries that have been fully lifted testing and mask requirements.

Still lacking the important data of how many tests were taken.

Can we ditch the masks already?

Huge numbers from Okinawa still, and a high positivity rate in the big cities.

Japan is still several months away from getting control of this situation.

Mask up, dine and drink inside.

Think of others.

a high positivity

This positivity rate is statistically meaningless.
