The Tokyo metropolitan government on Thursday reported 335 new cases of the coronavirus, down five from Wednesday.

The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo is 39, unchanged from Wednesday, health officials said. The nationwide figure is 354.

Nationwide, the number of reported cases was 1,280. After Tokyo, the prefectures with the most cases were Saitama (126), Kanagawa (125), Chiba (122), Osaka (88), Aichi (66), Hyogo (58), Miyagi (53), Ibaraki (36), Hokkaido (34), Fukuoka (31) and Okinawa (29).

@Rob Its simple government new math called "ITRICKONOMETRY"!

How on Earth do you go from 340 cases from 1,551 tests, to 335 cases from 9,369 tests?! A DROP of 5 from over 8000 more tests? Has the Japanese public just been conditioned to believe that the virus behaves this way? Because everywhere else on the planet in areas where no strict lockdowns are in place (i.e. Tokyo), everything tells you that when you increase tests by 8000 with a base of 340, those case numbers are, without a doubt, rising. ****Its simple government new math called "ITRICKONOMETRY"!

@spinningplatesToday

France for one disagrees with you

France is to ease some Covid restrictions on international travel outside Europe, the foreign ministry has said. Travellers to or from Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Britain and Singapore will no longer have to need a compelling reason to travel.

excellent question.

I thimk the answer is very simple. Japan (from the way they are conducting testing and reporting) only consider severe cases to count. They (I mean the Government and their Economic and Olympic scum who are in control of Japan's 'effort') simply consider asymptomatic and mild cases to be non-cases.

Since this time last year the Japanese people have been left to fend for themselves, I think it's the wrong way to do things, and am convinced long after the rest f the world has recovered Covid will be a risk you take when you visit Japan.

I guess it just doesn't fit the media's fear mongering agenda.

Yes it is.

CommonSense: "Okay... So? How many actually recovered? Why aren't those numbers ever reported? I guess it just doesn't fit the media's fear mongering agenda."

No kidding! Like wearing masks... what a crock that is! Same as how Covid-19 caused these people's deaths at all when miraculously levels of cardio-pulmonary difficulties and pneumonia among other REAL causes of death have plummeted! And why does Japan even need to test at all? We're already doing the lowest number in the world and we've beaten it, according to people like NipponGlory (who disappear when rates skyrocket again), so why not just stop and say there are ZERO new cases found? It's not a lie, is it? All these people who are so concerned with themselves and others when we have much more important things to showcase, like the upcoming Olympics, which are proof of our having beaten the virus -- both last year and now!
