And Yubaru, just for your information, we are quarantined and not going anywhere until we are OK to move. My intention was just to give people a little hope. With the shots and the medication available, for many people covid is not much more than a heavy cold.

I'm not trying to make nothing of covid, I just note that with all the thousands of cases reported in Tokyo, only eight are seriously ill:

Numbers arent scaring people anymore, until they catch it! And while many have mild to no symptoms, there are plenty that are really sick.

And two of those in Okinawa are me and the missus. Doesn't seem like a big deal though, fever normal and almost zero symptoms after three days

Tell that to the 3 that died today. Everyone is different! Also for the sake of those around you, the one's you know and dont, take precautions, not for you, for THEM! You never know, YOU could be the cause of someone dying because of it!

Told you so, only ZeroCovid is good Covid.

Go to China then. Come back to us when you will be fed up for being treated there like a slave.

@Reckless

Wow! Okinawa is really letting it rip!

The whole country has been letting it rip for months, we just don't see the reality due to low testing. That being said, the relatively high numbers are not unusual of the Omicron variant and it's sub-variants, and we should not be overly concerned. Africa's been through it, Europe's been through it, North America's been through it, the rest of the world's been through it. It's Japan's time to realise that Covid in some form is here to stay, and the sooner they get back to pre-2019 living the better things will be.
