@klausdorth I don't think so, number also depends on the day of a week. Normally is weeknds and Monday are more lower than weekday.

Going back up again?

Seriously hope not!

There’s a high possibility the numbers will go up again sometime in the near future, but the useful people makimg up the vaccinated majority have put Japan in a good position to deal with that, despite woeful governance on the issue of hospitals accepting Covid patients.

Cause for optimism.

It’s not over. And even more it’s not over when @Good states so. lol

I think numbers will keep going down unless a new variant emerges. Most Japanese will continue wearing masks, washing hands, etc, out of habit/custom for some time so I don't expect a big change in the trend. In contrast with some other countries like England where they have basically stopped wearing masks and numbers are going up again.

@Wobot

When do you think this will stop being a top headline?

When the election is over? Thank the LDP!

When the election is over?

Or, more precisely, when the LDP has won the election.

This is certainly good news even if the numbers are not catching every case.

Hey, waddaya know? Vaccines and masks work.....

When do you think this will stop being a top headline?

Perhaps when it isn't causing significant disruptions to the country, such as not allowing people to come visit from other countries. Japan is buttoned up like it's still 1746.
