I know these are Sunday's numbers, but the trend is well and truly heading in the right direction.

They may nit be accurate as in the real total but accurate in displaying the fall in numbers which is a continuing trend

These posts should have been on the previous article cataloguing the death toll from COVID.
Then we could see the glib foolishness that so much of the conversation about COVID on social networks has become.

Hopefully Kishida lets that happen before the next wave comes. Not holding my breath.

Well well well, how the turntables...
no but seriously, this was to be expected because it was a weekend.

Nothing wrong with going out and enjoying myself outside, I’m not heading out pretending to be miserable for anyone. It’s called being normal and I enjoy it.
Fine.
But people are sick and suffering as well.

The “continuing trend.” Of what ? The spread of patently false information? “Open up and move on.” What country is this uninformed person talking about? Certainly not Japan. Other than the border which every country has done , Japan has never been closed . Unless you mean open up the hospitals and admit people who desperately need proper treatment. That must be what you’re referring to. Insanity? We finally agree ! It’s time for some to stop the insane spread of patently false information, junk science, data from other countries doesn’t apply here. The insane suggestion for people to OD on Vitamin D. Enjoy time with family . I agree with that too! When omicron which is by far and away the deadliest variant of Covid in Japan to date has been contained (by medical definition) and the healthcare system has recovered, not a single symptomatic person is sent to a hotel or worse home , the by all means , spend time with family and friends again! In the meantime, stay safe, get vaccinated, do your part to help get us out of this disaster. Don’t be reckless with others health. Start to finally care about others .

The numbers are going down. We are happy that fewer and fewer people are getting sick.

Looks good to me, even if a Monday number, hope not a fluke

this is one time where I don't mind the foreign community standing out.
A lot of Japanese want to take the useless things off, but the nail that sticks out and all..
Ill be doing the same.

Steve Mcarthy can u give me an example of one hospital in Tokyo that is on the brink of collapse? I live in Tokyo so will go there tomorrow to have a look and verify with my own eyes. I live near several major hospitals in Tokyo, including several that accept Covid patients, and they are all functioning as normal. Jikkei, Toranomon, Saisekai, Keio, all functional normally.

People acting more ‘contentious?” No idea what you are getting at there. They opened up a free pcr testing center in my neighborhood. Just out of curiosity I went several times already. Always negative.

@stickman …. Tokyo is not a country . It is 1 city . Go visit a hospital…. Just visit . See if they let you in to visit .
