The level to which you continually catastrophize covid is beyond belief. I'm genuinely sorry if it stems from you or a loved one suffering during the pandemic, but seriously, despite high case numbers, there's no denying the severity of the disease is not what it once was. Things, albeit gradually, are returning to normal. You'd do your mental health a big favour by trying your best to have a positive outlook on the situation.

There is a second pandemic japan needs to face and that’s the long Covid pandemic.

We know since the beginning of Covid, Japan simply doesn’t test you unless you’re symptomatic. In some cases, full blown symptomatic. They eliminated close contact testing as well . So my simple questions are these ; where are these hundreds of thousands of current symptomatic people? Hotels ? Home ? They can’t be in hospitals. There aren’t enough beds even for the sickest of the sick . With 298000 new cases in 7 days , the healthcare system is still on the brink of disaster if not outright collapse. Compound that with the fact that Omicron is the deadliest variant of Covid in Japan to date, this is getting worse by the day . Omicron has proven it doesn’t discriminate who it attacks. Old , young, fat, thin or fit, sick or completely healthy. In Japan, virtually no one is safe . I’m not spreading unnecessary fear or stress. Im just stating reality as it pertains to Japan.
