Yes, I was always told to wash your hands after touching the mail. It’s very grubby. Getting some sun is also important.

The number of tests get smaller but the results about the same. So the % of people positive is greater. Hospital care involves more than virus cases and there are only so many ventilation machines. The mortality rate is those diagnosed and admitted, not those who die at home. No test no paperwork to fax.

I have heard 0 sirens the last 3 days, down from almost non stop, its really creepy, like they just stopped accepting new patients in my area. (rural tokyo) The virus dosent stop, but clinics are certainly not on their top game over this period (or so it seems) anyone have any thoughts on this lack of sirens?

Would really like to know the age breakdown of the number of people with severe symptoms.

2828 test conducted and 816 infected...wtf! Seems like the testing has become somewhat minimal again as they try to paint a fake picture that all is well! Many people who are infected don’t even know that they are infected and continue going out infecting others in this never ending cycle. If more pop up testing centers are available with free easy access tests being done then definitely it would be easier to control this rapid increase in the infected.

Also after today’s meetings the officials came up with the decision to ask restaurants and bars to close at 8 ( L.O 7pm )...yeah the virus doesn’t infected humans until after 8pm...smh!!!

Yep ! It is 101 and yes they are at capacity to the point of declaring another SoE.

I always thought Japan would be a country that donates ICU machines to poor countries. it is unbelievable this.

I now started thinking most of the hospitals in Japan actually reject COVID patients because they fear they might loose ordinary business.

That is the reality, so @Reckless no , not the best time to relax, instead buy more masks and disinfectants because if you catch the virus or any other virus for that matter you are more less on your own.

They don't post the number of tests anymore. Why?

On the other hand this could be a more serious and annual flu like illness. Hopefully not.

I live near a Japanese hospital but almost never hear ambulances

All I know is that I wake up with the ambulances' sirens blasting, and go to bed with them

Just to post a few. Last December I walked. marathon. That is brain tiring.

I would like to know information on those tested for Corona but were negative. What did they have that warranted a Corona test?

@LovelyTime: Actually I do not fellow clocks as I do not use them except of course when needing to catch a Green Car or a Shinkansen or a First Class flight.

But besides that, I have a "Lovely Time" in Japan. The medical system is superb, the people are 99% ok in my book, the food is excellent. Actually the food in hospitals enjoyable too.

I find the numbers of younger people contracting the disease according to the article not a good sign. Perhaps the vaccines should be given to younger people first after the health care workers and then the elderly, like many posters and then to those with compromised health situations. Anyone agree ?

On a ten kilometer walk on January 1st I walked pass many clinics and many were open. Doctors were even outside in the parking lots checking patients as I eves dropped.

Did not see quite the same number open on the 31st.

Only heard one ambulance today in my 8.5 kilometer walk. Pretty quiet out there but mall parking lots full.

I 100% agree!

My opinion, at first vaccine the medical staff, second vaccine the young people.

But what is an important point...after vaccine, can you get infected, yes or no?

If yes, can you spread it?

If, even you are vaccined, you can spread the virus, the eldery must get priority after the medical staff.

If you dont spread the virus after vaccine, the young must be vaccined first.
