Not sure how it was felt in Tokyo, but here in Osaka it was clearly not as strong as Jebi. Then again, this time we weren't in the middle of it's path. But 25 is already coming, so it's not over yet.

I've been here nearly a decade and I can't remember a time when the wind was that strong in Tokyo.

I don't think it's a competition - the intensity people would have felt all depends on location, how strong your abode is against the winds and if it's sheltered by larger buildings.

Hope everyone is ok this morning.

In Kansai, I went out walking on a patrol to make sure everything was OK. The typhoon only lasted about 45min to one hour and the wind was not so strong and there was hardly any rain. Trains were stopped all day and supermarkets and businesses either all day. The weak typhoon arrived at about 11pm

numeous text message to go to evacuation shelters from miday. People spoke to this morning said they can’t trust weather forecasts, but that said I had two fences smashed in the last one and half the trees in my local park had to be cut down

Same here. We live in a new 13 story reinforced concrete mansion, and I could feel the building move during some of the stronger gust

Man, location, at 2.30am power gone...never have that happen before. It was the strongest winds in Chiba I've ever experienced. My dog was so upset. And my wife. Me.....getting ready to hunt a wooly mammoth. My hair was a mess. Well my wig.

It started blowing in Tokyo around 11:30pm and kept blowing until 3am. The wind gusts were very strong, some of the strongest I have experienced in nearly twenty years living in the Tokyo region. However, I don’t ever recall a typhoon blowing for so long. They usually only last an hour to ninety minutes. It’s unusual to have the blow last for four hours. I’m surprised there is so little damage.

Sorry, my last post probably sounded competitive. I just meant that here in Nagoya the previous typhoon a few weeks back was way worse than this one. Given that according to the article this one actually weakened by the time it hit Tokyo, after passing us here in Nagoya where it seemed quite tame compared to the last one, I am surprised to see so many talking about how bad it was there.

My neighbor's house had their concrete arches uprooted, so boy it sure was strong here in Tokyo.

I slept through it.

Strongest you guys ever felt? Man, that wasn’t even the strongest one I felt this month.

@crickey. Power outages happen all strong typhoons where I live. Not this one. It is a bit romantic to have candles and eat a nabe on your gas cooker. Also makes you realize you can’t take electricity for granted.
