It is a nice picture of the two of them, I like their very natural and slightly mischievous smiles.

I would just love to know what the both of them are thinking!

Honeymoon in Guam from the 5th?

I hope they have lots of children who go on to have good jobs so that they can support me when I'm old

This dude is set for LIFE! Sweet deal. Won't ever have to work again.

Kawasaki.

Dead wrong, she will lose her royal status and become a standard Japanese Citizen.

Hard to say. As Pacint said, she becomes a commoner when she marries him. That said, there may be 'other methods' by which she can receive support.

But I'd guess, admittedly without any real justification, that he's from a well off enough family, and already on track to live a decent life anyways.

A genuinely sweet picture.

On behalf of the all the years in paying taxes to support these people from the commoners, the least I expect is to get the invitation for reception and wedding attendance

Sorry. The photo doesn’t look like those are genuine smiles to me. I could be wrong but when it looks to good to be true, it probably is. Judge me all you like but that was my first genuine reaction. Plus these guys would’ve probably had hours of rehearsals for this, no? Of course that’s only about the picture, though. All the very best to them as a couple.

And her "dowry" will be in the neighborhood of 一億円、100 million yen too! So she wont have to worry about working. That amount is pretty much typical now a days for any females leaving the royal family.

You can bet he, his family, and all their relations have been vetted inside and out, prior to the IJA allowing this marriage to take place.

He probably is smiling because the "enema" is finally over!

While I am all for the couple the media will kill the relationship. This almost begs of failure bit the old school media

That's a great photo. She has a wonderful smile. It has an impish/"I know something you don't" quality to it.

While that may be true from a financial standpoint, the Imperial Household Agency seems to go out of its way to circumscribe the imperial families' lives however it can and drain the fun out of whatever one might have being part of Japan's historic ruling family.

That's a technicality. They are still under the umbrella of the state, if you will. They can have no public opinions, they will be under the protection of state security and their lives will not be entirely their own.

Why the long wait?

Why on Earth would a real princess want to marry a salaryman? I guess love will make people do funny things.

Once the wedding is over you will hear almost nothing of this couple as she will no longer be a part of the royal family. So no the media won't kill anything.

Why on Earth would a real princess want to marry a salaryman? I guess love will make people do funny things.

She is only a princess now, and like all her sisters and the "female" princesses in the royal line, they will not be princesses after marriage.

This guy has a bright future, and from the looks of it, the two are happy together and should have a successful life together!

He is paralegal. It is the first step to be attorney. We don't have to worry how they will live. Probably government have to return one of imperial houses confiscated in 1945 .

They went to same school. She might want to become paralegal.
