Yeah, and now there are questions be raised about whether or not he can legally give this money away in the first place.
The amount falls below the line needed for someone to pay any taxes, but there were questions raised on the "wide-shows" yesterday about it and all pretty much were making it sound like advertising for his company.
Their inlies the problem, even though it's coming from his own pocket, the value to his company far exceeds the amount he would be shelling out, according to the pundits, so he is getting something of value in return.
Always someone around who wants to spoil the fun!

This guy is doing his best to get his face in the media to become well-known - from traveling to space to giving away money.
To me, he seems like an egotistical billionaire, for whom fortune is not enough, he now craves fame.

Credit to him for building up such a profitable company - but he seems to be incredibly needy. I assume these demands for attention will just get worse if he continues to make so much money.

Build libraries on the moon and a far distant moon so our accomplishments are stored somewhere rather than relying on vanity alone to be the record of our planet

Wow, it's a real version of the "Zuckerberg is sharing his fortune if you like and share this post!"

He could be spending his money to help the poor and/or to contribute to the society, this give away is just another look-at-me excersise of selfishness.

Wow! There's a lot of bitterness here! Must not have heard about the give-away until after the deadline! lolz

$10,000 for Maezawa-san who is worth $3,100,000,000 is like $1 for someone who is worth $300,000! Very-very generous!
And Maezawa-san is very-very courageous to want to fly on a rocket made by Elon. Probably he does not want to return back to Trump's planet...

Lucky woman if he has.

He probably meant 1 yen or a 100 yen, (realistically)

Why are people so upset when wealthy people spend their money - especially when they give it to not so wealthy people!? Even if they are benefiting from it!

The vanity of the elite knows no bounds.

Toasty, what are the elite to do with their wealth then?

Eureka moment in getting rid of the Achilles heel of online clothing hawking with his simple but brilliant method of making sure that every one gets the right fit since there aren't no fitting room in cyberspace. If, he was so self-centred he would have called his Zozo suit: "the Zaza suit by Mae'zaza"wa !!! I am sure he will become a great philanthropist. And, i hope that he makes the best selfie ever by a civilian with the Earth in the background !!!

If he's that generous, go help developing countries

Glad this guy is a visionary and great man. Representing Japan and the world when they embark on a mission to the moon and back.

Give your monies to charity and do so quietly, without fuss or fanfare.
