I believe that he believes, and I for one would love to see Obama make this his legacy after he leaves office. Continue to be an Ambassador for a nuclear arms free world.

IF he does that, THEN I will believe that Obama is deserving of being called a Nobel Laureate.

he still trusts the president’s promise to work toward a nuclear-free world.

I guess "work toward" can be interpreted in many ways. I could write a blog post about how nukes are bad and then claim that I'm "working toward" a nuke free world.

Sadly, the Hiroshima event was all PR, and well done at that. Moving speeches, emotional hugs. But will anything change?

"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."

J. Robert Oppenheimer, after the first A-bomb test.

The nuclear genie is out of the bottle for good, no nation will give it up.

Meanwhile Obama's right hand man just made this statement:

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has told Chinese President Xi Jinping that Japan has the capacity to go nuclear “virtually overnight.”

Japan can't do that unless the U.S. is planning to allow it, that doesn't sound like a commitment or "promise" to create a nuclear free world.

As if Obama has any saying in a nuclear free world. Heck I probably have about the same clout.

Humans are too dumb to live in a nuclear free world.

We don't learn, we aren't truly compassionate and empathetic enough. Plus, we are always far too fascinated by the minuscule differences between us as opposed to the veritable tsunami of similarities that define us as a species.

Dumb Homo Sapiens.

An honest and kind man. Unfortunately, while its good he trusts Obama, whom I'm sure will do what he can, one MA can only do so much, and far too many in power have other interests.

That secret service agent looks like he needs a hug even more.

Poor man. People also believed they would be able to keep their existing health insurance plans and doctors, too.

Exactly. Nations always talking about partial nuclear disarmament . . . this is also like talking about partial circumcision. Go all the way oy just forget it. Nukes are here to stay.

It would help if Putin and Xi also promise to work for a nuclear-free world.

87 and still believes politicians. I guess he will never learn.

Just can't agree with this. It's the leadership and the corporate MSM pawns that keep us seperated. The natural response by our fellow homosapiens in a disaster or an emergency situation proves you're wrong.

It's the leadership and the corporate MSM pawns that keep us seperated.

They are catalysts, but it's human intolerance that keeps us separated.

Strange, no pun intended, since every top US general said the bomb was not necessary. Just as inkjet has said, it's always the politicians, and their muppets the MSM. Take the red pill next time.
