I will say it again. A 5.2 quake in California has no connection to the quake in Japan.
There were 161 quakes of M1.5 or over in the US today. Are there any others linked to Japan?
Or all of them!

Ruddy earthquake, stay safe guys
TokyoLiving
The only real risk Japan has..

Thank goodness there were no victims, be careful people, always be alert Japan...

"I agree with you on the correlation in between the seismic activities alongside the ring of fire, Wasn’t this like Earthquake 101…? What’s with these contradicting comments?" @ Jennie
No it was like earthquake 101 hmm this just preliminary. The contradict comments is because how different we view the world or rather planet earth.

"A 5.2 quake in California has absolutely no connection to the quake today in Japan. That is simply false information."
Is California and Kyushu in the same planet or different? Finite minds talks about tech tonic plates trying to figure out infinite minds that designed those plates.

"Nice post, Cephus, but why would the depths be scared?
And I do not think that the world is sagging with age, but do you mean a natural shrinkage over the millennia?"@nandakandamada
To explain to you fully why the depths are scared I need to know what you think about the depth or rather planet earth? If you provide the right answer then I will be able to answer the second part of your question.

This is not surprising yesterday M 5.2 in California, today M 7.1 in Kyushu, Japan. The world is sagging with age and the depths are already scared. Caution and disasters management preparedness is very crucial at this juncture.

Not 'Warning.' "Caution." Warning is the highest level.
Saying that, the system was introduced in 2019, so this is really the first time they have used it.

Warning of major earthquake along the Nankai trough. Japanese housewives are going to hit the supermarkets tomorrow like locusts.

That New Year’s Day event got me out of bed and riding my bike up a 100M hill.
(forget trying to drive your car)
There I found half a dozen other people I know sitting on the waiting benches outside a restaurant

Probably because of the intensity levels. The highest was a 6-. You can them here:

"I read they upgraded to a 7.3 but hopefully there is only minor damage and no loss of life".
This comment currently has 4 negative ratings. Does that not just sum up this place perfectly?
DurraSell
I'm surprised by the minimal damage here compared to the New Year's Day quake.

Here is a reason why Japan should not change the Constitution, go America's way and join the military industrial complex.
At any moment , Japan faces natural disasters, not military threats.
TheDalaiLamasBifocals
The expert panel that convened to evaluate the quake issued a caution to make preparations because there is a higher than usual possibility that it is connected to the Nankai megathrust quake.
There are three levels on the system. Not connected, caution and warning.
