And they only say that now? Sounds like politically motivated attacks against Boeing now.

More information on safety issues dribbles out, this time stimulated on by union workers. Official company spokesperson does not seem too worried about foreign materials entering panels and causing short circuits.
"We believe this is not serious. Fire damage in electric distribution panels are also found in other types of aircraft, and it has no impact on safe operation of aircraft"
Just how many fires and short circuits can be tolerated before an aircraft's safety is impacted?

Mexican parts, faulty Yuasa batteries ---- maybe the Americans should make everything in the US to assure the aircraft is safe.

This is what happens when you hand off serious work to dubious foreigners.
From the Seattle Times: "Unlike earlier Boeing jets, said (a Boeing electrical engineer), the innards of the 787 power distribution panels — which control the flow of electricity to the plane’s many systems — are “like Radio Shack,” with parts that are “cheap, plastic and prone to failure.” (2-2-13)
Please, Airbus, don't make the same mistake: keep your production at home. Don't allow the Chinese to build your Rolls-Royce engines.
