Not good news for the pets and birds that are totally terrified by these events.

good news, bombs are being used for peaceful purposes.

Went once. Was dangerously crowded to the point of not being able to to move and being moved whenever the crowd moved. Not doing that again. Plenty of other places to see fireworks.

Glad to see that it is back - there is also no legitimate reason or excuse for having cancelled it four times in a row.

Where would it be? Are there some locations to get a good view?

GREAT!! Its been 4 years already!!! 1st time of seeing Sumida Hanabi Festival, hope its not as crowded as the Tenjin Festival in Osaka, will definitely look for some "unlisted" place to watch closely the beautiful hanabi, probably on top of OK Adachi Odai, as it offers the best panoramic view of all Tokyo and Fujisan.

Good. Yet another example of finally getting over the excessive neurotic COVID fear.

I live in Sumida-ku, and cannot tell you all how happy this makes me. Back to normal life!

Yeah omelette… a crowed of a can of squash sardines worst than the Tokyo metro rush hour

Tokyo, sooo backwards, ROFL

Had the fireworks here last year. Tokyo is soooo boring too and the people are square and unfriendly.

Central Osaka is lovely and you don’t get busy bodies complaining about trivial things all the time
