Boar attacks boy, man in Ehime

Police said Monday that a wild boar attacked a 9-year-old boy and a 67-year-old man in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. They were the latest is a series of attacks by wild boars in the area, police said.

According to Sports Nippon, the elementary school boy was attacked by the boar in a field near his home at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The boy suffered injuries to his head and arms. About 30 minutes later, a 67-year-old man who was walking nearby was also attacked by a boar.

Police alerted the neighborhood to be careful and have stepped up patrols with local hunters to look for the boar.
