even for me...this is too much!

What kind of crazy world we're living today. First there was this Japanese dude who auctioned his genitals for a gourmet experience, now in Brazil auctioning your virginity?? WTF

was the subject of 15 bids

really? for $780,000.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute

I think a lot of people would find that debatable. Good for her though, if she's going to do it, she might as well get a big pay day.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

What kind of crazy world we're living today... now in Brazil auctioning your virginity

It's actually an old cultural practice in Japan, called Mizuage, so it's no real surprise a Japanese man won.

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Though I've never understood the "virgin myth" (what's the big deal about being first?), this is a great story on many levels nonetheless, and my hat goes off to all concerned. Well done!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Sex sells, but apparently never having had sex sells for much much more.

18 ( +19 / -1 )

The best sex she will ever have had.

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

he could have paid a hell of a lot less if he just went to south east asia.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Hmm..a 20 year old VIRGIN in BRAZIL??? Hahahaha! Sure, Japanese dude paying almost $ 1 million $$$$!! Have fun with your so called VIRGIN! I have plenty of amigos from Brazil, now just another question is this so called virgin even a real woman?? Or was Maria, really Mario a few years back??

6 ( +18 / -12 )

"If you only do it once in your life, then you are not a prostitute"

Honey, if you have sex with someone and receive money for it, you are indeed a prostitute, if only for one night.

16 ( +23 / -7 )

She is not doing this for poor people as she claims. Sisely had a serious argument with her after she said more recently that she wants the money to travel. Here in Brazil she is seen as a tacky prostitute.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

I know there are some 60 years old male Virgins in US and Canada. There are movie name as 50 yrs old Virgin. It is extremely doubtful there will be 20 years old female Brazilian virgin. Natsu may be conned.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

How is this legal? I call sick on this and blame the filmmaker for pushing this agenda

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Weird indeed.

How old is the winner?

Why would someone pay, so much, for inexperienced sex, with a butterface... is beyond me.

She's an adult, it's her body, she's mentally sane, not hurting others... so i don't care. And yes, sex for money is prostitution in a lot of countries - so in which country will the actual sale take place? Maybe a US state?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Legality aside (let's assume he does not pay. Would any court enforce a judgment against this guy for failing to pay or go through with sex? I doubt it), this is a good looking girl with a body Natsu is not likely to find in Japan very easily. But still, no one is worth that money. For his sake I sure hope he makes it last, if you catch my drift...

0 ( +2 / -2 )

We can call this Brazilian young lady a prostitute, a whore , a what ever you want, but SHE will soon have almost 1 MILLION US $$$ so at least she is not some poor bimbo with no teeth hooking on your corner there in the red light district of Sydney etc...right?? She does not have to marry this Japanese dude, right?? Just close your eyes, pretend you like it, go through the routine and $$$?? Hmm,something sounds fishy to me!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

To put it succinctly virginity itself is a myth or untruth and a social construction for controlling and judging women. As a result until the world including men and women learns and accepts this you will have the detrimental effects of female sexuality getting politicized in certain parts of the world. But in this case it has been publicized and monetized. Thus the political aspect of this issue will continue and the happiness and self-actualization of both women and men will suffer because of it . Last of all I do not agree with her approach. I believe that virginity and sex is sacred and should not be trivialized. However it is her body, conscience, and integrity at stake. Therefore it is her choice to do what she feels is right.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Yes it is not unusual as it is a traditional practice in Japan. But i think he got a poor bargain, she is no beauty, indeed she is very plan and her other characteristics are hardly worth such a sum. I wish he had invested more wisely. But above all the "so called" film maker is someone with absolutely no taste or decorum at all, what a idiot he is. Well I suppose these are crazy times so there will be crazy events.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

When I read this I literally sat with my mouth open stunned. Why would someone do this? And her parents were happy for her? Are they mad? Their daughter is going to be paid for sex... she's a tart, nothing more. Jeez.

So did the filmmaker approach her and say: "g'day love. How d'you fancy auctioning off your virginity to a total stranger for the sake of me film? He could be a total scumbag, but hey, you could be rich!"

She's an idiot, director's a sleaze... and Natsu... he's worse than she is!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

How can she deny what she's doing is not prostitution. If you're selling your body for money, your're a prostitute. Pure and simple.

Catarina is extremely excited. She was speaking to her family in Brazil online and they were extremely happy for her,

Some family!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

“The auction closed last night and Catarina is extremely excited. She was speaking to her family in Brazil online and they were extremely happy for her,”

BS!!! I wouldn't be happy if either of my daughters sold their virginity online. I'd be rather ashamed if they did such a thing.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

INatsu must be tested beforehand for any sexually transmitted diseases.

If this dude has some Gonorrhea or Syphilis the woman cannot get her ca$h. Whatever her and her family's reason , she will still be considered as a slut.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Didn't know prostiitution was legal in Australia. Doubtful that the deal will ever go through.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The meaning of a prodtitute is that she does it for money and for a living or for means to survive. This woman is a slut because she's doing it to gain in materiality. There is a difference. Also by the look of that picture, she doesn't look like a virgin. And second, she's not that good looking. Only a desperate man would pay that much for a sick mere sexual fantasy of sleeping with a virgin. Lets just hope everyone has an AIDS test before and after intercourse. Lets just hope there is foreplay, kissing, hardcoreplay and post play for that amount of cash. If we're the one paying for this I want it all baby....

1 ( +4 / -3 )

BUMP N GRIND....

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Saw the picture, not sure I believe the virgin side but if she is, good on her. If she wanted to do it, then it's her body and she can do what she wants. I just hope that she doesn't get "screwed" (no pun intended) by the promoter for this stunt. How much of the money will she get.

On a side note, I wonder if those protestors who were up in Tokyo when the IMF was here will go after the guy who paid for her. This guy obviously is part of the so called "1%" if he can drop $1 million for a one night stand.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

titaniumoxide:

" f this dude has some Gonorrhea or Syphilis the woman cannot get her ca$h. Whatever her and her family's reason , she will still be considered as a slut. "

Yeah, right. But if she gets drunk in some bar, gets chatted up by some dude and does the same for free, then she is honorable, right? There seems quite a bit of hypocrisy going on around here.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

There are some prude folks posting on this thread that's for sure.

There seems quite a bit of hypocrisy going on around here.

I agree! IMO it's because she auctioned off what others have given or gotten for free that probably bugs some folks.

From my own experience I would rather be with a woman that at least has some sexual experience and not have to deal with a young woman and all the pain involved with "being the first".

3 ( +6 / -3 )

And I thought Japan was in recession?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Alphaape:

" Saw the picture, not sure I believe the virgin side but if she is, good on her. If she wanted to do it, then it's her body and she can do what she wants. I just hope that she doesn't get "screwed" (no pun intended) by the promoter for this stunt. "

There is some serious money involved here, so I assume that lawyers got involved and make sure she actually gets the amount. It seems to that involving the documentary maker is actually a safety feature for her; the chance to get screwed (money wise) would certainly bigger if she did this on her own.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

well, at least she won't find her first experience painful..

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

One of the very first posters wrote:

What kind of crazy world we're living today

The one we've been living in for centuries - one in which a woman's body and virginity are a commodity, to be used in business deals. The difference here is that now, it is the young lady herself who is the broker, not her father, mother, pimp or madam. Society still insists on placing a pointless value on something, trying to control something which only a woman herself should be in control of, and this woman is in control. Good for her.

As for the poster above who wrote: "She doesn't look like a virgin"? Some people just don't look like what they are.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Wonder what Mr. Natsu's wife thinks about all this.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

money for sex = prostitute

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

She's a lucky girl. $780k just for sex? That's a no-brainer. Take the deal. I'd be happy for my daughter if she did something this. It's better than losing your virginity (for free) to some guy you'll barely remember in 10 years.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

poppler, seriously? Happy?

I hope you don't have a daughter...do you..?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Everything is on sale!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He bought her mizuage...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mizuage

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Three quarters of a million bucks ! He should have visited the Philippines, although I don't condone the practice, he could have gotten a virgin for less than 100 bucks.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

With that kind of money, why does "Natsu" even feel he needs to pay for it? He can probably pick up women just driving around Roppongi in his Ferrari and flashing his roll of money.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

She looks so.......average, which is not meant as a put down, just my opinion. Now I would like to see what the Japanese dude looks like.

Wasn't there a movie about a guy offering a million bucks to sleep with a another guy's wife? Must be nice when new is worth less than used.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@combinibento

this is a good looking girl with a body Natsu is not likely to find in Japan very easily

Oh really??????!!!!!!!!you have no clue my friend, absolutely no clue! japanese women are among the most beautiful and most cute women on the face of the earth. Any average prostitute in japan, beats the beauty if this soon to be prostitute. wake up my friend wake up !!!! the low sense of beauty of some people is way beyond me.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Have fun!

All money should go to chastity, I mean, charity! Then everyone will be A-OK with it!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

For that kind of cash the guy could have a team of virgins working on him night and day for a whole week. He is not being very imaginative.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Out of curiosity - do those of you who call this woman a prostitute, consider that those who work in the adult film industry are prostitutes, too?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

So many women - and a few guys - doing that their whole life for less money!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Many woman might disappointed as they gave it for free when they were in their teen. The value of virginity is woth many billions. And keep it for own spouse both man and woman.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Good on her.....pretty quick million bucks....im all for it!!!!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Hard to decide whether or not to accept the argument that what she is doing is prostitution. Many women give it up for the price of dinner, or a weekend away, some expensive clothes or other gear etc. etc. I have heard it argued that a non-working married woman who totally relies on her husband for everything is prostituting herself but maybe that is pushing things too far,

This whole affair is really not in the best of taste but but with it having been organised in Australia the lack of sophistication is not surprising :-)

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I guess that the guy, rather than being unimaginative, or a Ferrari driver, wanted, in addition to getting his rocks off, to contribute to a good cause and had the money in the bank. Perhaps he had sold his farm. If you have an oku or so lying around and are old, and alone but with morals/pride/face, and want to contribute to a good cause then...this might become a trend. She is being nice too, and like the guy, she gets a perk for being pro-social - she'll keep ten percent.

Prostitution is illegal in Japan, at the coital level, and this may well be a good thing (I believe it is). But marriage is legal and I agree with those that claim it is in part a form of prostitution. Men would not marry women and support them and their heirs if they did not think that an occasional bonk was part of the bargain. Marriage is superior to prostitution (in the narrow-definition, conventional sense) in that its profits go fairly directly towards children and the stability of society. I think that there is a case to be made that that other forms of prostitution, such as this, if beneficial to society as a whole, should be made legal. I am not sure what percentage of what amount of profit need be contributed to the community for a paid sex act to be made legal, but I guess that in this instance, the damage that this transaction does to the Brazilian family (legalised, broad-definition prostitution?) system will be minimal compared to the benefit to society that the transaction reaps.

I could argue the other way. This act, judging by the furore, may cause Brazilians to loose their faith in the family and thus contribute to the disintegration of society and a general loss of well being. For all I know there are community spokespersons in her community that are pleading for her to desist, that they do not need the houses as much as they do need family values.

Which?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Cheaper than most marriages. And little difference.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Most posters here are world-class hypocrits. All the comments have focused on the girl... totally ignoring that a guy also did this. Is it okay because he got a lot less money?

... I suspect it's because he's a guy, and because most posters here may pay lip service to the idea of gender equality, but when push comes to shove the majority of you are woman-hating bigots (even some of the female posters).

If a guy can do it and not get insulted as a "slut", "prostitute" and all the other hateful words being thrown around this thread then a girl should be able to do the same.

... seriously people, get out of the 10th century.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I can here the feminists howling: "What about the sisterhood!" But yeah Natsu has gotta be nuts to pay that kinda money.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Sell your soul to the devil; one day he will come to collect.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Big waste of money for the guy.

Great wage for a couple minutes work for the girl.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

She has every right to choose what to do with her virginity. But the denial of being a prostitute is out-right (as plain as her words), she is a prostitute in deed.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Sell your soul to the devil; one day he will come to collect.

Poor Mary.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

But the denial of being a prostitute is out-right (as plain as her words), she is a prostitute in deed

Nah, prostitutes do the deed a heck of a lot more often and a for a heck of a lot less money.

Making a cake doesn't make you a Baker, rubbing someone's back doesn't make you a massage therapist, getting a few bucks for mowing the lawn doesn't make you a gardener. A working girl has to put some work into it before she can be called a prostitute.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

You are right, she IS not, yet. When the transaction is through, she then WILL be.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

She is not doing this for poor people as she claims. Sisely had a serious argument with her after she said more recently that she wants the money to travel. Here in Brazil she is seen as a tacky prostitute.

She had been on an interview on a local radio station, stating only 10% of it was going to be donating while the rest will pay for her education and "other" things.

Of course the Huffington Post reports:

Although Migliorini, a physical education student, has claimed to media that she planned to donate as much as 90 percent of the auction price to charities that will build homes in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, even auction organizer Justin Sisely, who devised the plan for a proposed documentary, was skeptical.

"I was surprised she said that because in all my dealings with her, she made it clear that it was a business decision for her," Australian filmmaker Justin Sisely told The Huffington Post recently. "Now, given how big this story is in Brazil, she's trapped. If she doesn't give any money to charity, she's going to look bad."

So you decide. AFAIAC, she's a prostitute regardless. Sell your body for sex, it's irrelevant where the proceeds go. Doesn't matter if it is to pay for school ,donate to charity, feed-clothe your kids, or so you can sit back and drink mai-thais on the beach; you get paid for boarding a snake, you're a prostitute

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Again, one time does not a professional make. And professionals make a heck of a lot less than she will.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"Wonder what Mr. Natsu's wife thinks about all of this"

If there is a Mrs. Natsu, she probably doesn't know about this, and if Natsu has $780,000 to spend on this, she probably gets plenty of money to do whatever she wants.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why didn't I think of that? Nuts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Virtuoso:

" With that kind of money, why does "Natsu" even feel he needs to pay for it? He can probably pick up women just driving around Roppongi in his Ferrari and flashing his roll of money. "

I don´t think that is the point at all. I very much doubt that "Natsu" is acting out of desperation.

He wants something that you and I can not get. Are you perhaps miffed about that?

This girl has decided that she is expensive... very expensive. Very different from all the good girls (no "sluts", oh no no no) that you can pick up in Shibuya for some Starbucks coffee and sweet talk.

This is about power and showing it. Do you think Jackie Kennedy really fell head over heels in love with the fat old Aristotle Onassis? Or does money add to the attraction? Do you her a "slut"? How about George Soros` 17 year old Brazilian girl friend? "Slut" or wonderful love?

I sense some sour grapes and very very double standards in this thread.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I give it 24 hours before Natsu sends out a press release saying he thought it was 780,000 YEN.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Natsu? Yeah, he is completely bloody natsu! What sort of fool would pay three quarters of a million bucks just to get it on with a chick that has never done it before? Gees! He'd get a much better turn by slipping half a dozen experienced girls a couple of grand each and spending the weekend with them.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Who cares if she's a prostitute? If it's the person's own decision, there's nothing wrong with prostitution as far as I can see.

All this moralizing is so veeeery tedious. No crime, no victim, no harm, no foul, but there are a huge amount of judgmental nobodies wringing their hands over it. Pathetic.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I am still remember the scandal that the book Memoirs of a Geisha caused in the geisha community in Japan when the writer refers the oshiage (where a geiko's virginity is put into auction) with a lot of details (even the doctor who won the auction took the evidence of the girl losing her hymen). This is very similar, yes this is the biggest pay I even seen for an act like this, is scandalous but is a lot of money, she can get a ticket to a place where no internet is found and live peacefuly for a long time while the outrage and the bullying is happening around the world.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If Natsu says he thought it was 780,000 yen, I bid 785,000 yen, ha ha!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Bulls eye! The hypocritical moralizing by some here is really astonishing.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

$3k for the guy, that is funny!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Old pervert taking advantage of a lovey teen.

Who is taking advantage of who here, exactly? The way I see it, she is getting a much better deal...

It's hard to understand how people valuate these sort of things. The fetish of virginity - guarding it, "giving" it (as if it were a precious gift); the idea of "deflowering" - it's all difficult to comprehend from a modern perspective. Take this case: the sex is unlikely to be very good (inexperience and trepidation), she's going to bleed a bit, and then its going to be over. Why would you pay 3/4 of a million dollars for that? That is some serious fetishization of virginity- after all our (assumed) dirty old man could go out and hire any number of prostitutes for that amount. It's clearly purity this guy is after... as if he was going to suck it out of her.

Makes him seem like some sort of sexual vampire. It's more pathetic than it is anything else, really.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It's her body , she should be able to do with it whatever she pleases .

4 ( +4 / -0 )

A male whose virginity was also auctioned

No one is falling for that crap again.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Is prostitution legal in Oz? Because if it isn't I wonder how either of these people are going to get into the country. On false documents? With all that money involved this sounds like a lawyer's paradise.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

My people,

You have me saying "wow, wow and double wow". I queried the word "love" and "affection" even "caring" in the responses, and got zip.

This is the thing: Sex is a reproductive function. We have organs so the the human species can procreate. I think we all understand this intuitively. Society = Structure. The basic building block of a society is the family. So, procreation ideally takes place with the intent of creating and maintaining a family. So, in this case, you have sex with someone based upon a mutual "agreement" that this person is someone that you care for deeply and would consider spending your life with.

There is no question as to weather she is a prostitute as prostitution is not a relative term (pros·ti·tu·tion/ˌprästəˈt(y)o͞oSHən/Noun: The practice or occupation of engaging in sex with someone for payment.). So, no need to continue debating that point.

The question weather she is right or wrong for doing it. If your standard is that sex without love, caring, concern, commitment is wrong, then she MIGHT INDEED be a slut (again i defer to websters...ok, Wikipedia: "Slut or slattern is a term applied to an individual who is considered to have loose sexual morals or who is sexually promiscuous.") IF she does not marry this guy or the very next guy she consummates with.

However, by this definition, most of us have had sexual relations with more than one person, right. So we are not really in a position to condemn her as a slut, lest we be hypocrites. However, as society judges that prostitution is immoral, I think it is fair game to say that prostitution itself is a dirty business...and she very dirty, albeit well paid, little lady.

For those of you who object my calling her dirty, let your daughters become prostitutes and see how you feel about her life.

All that being said, this is 2012, and things like "love" "commitment" "caring"...have nothing to do with sex...anymore. This entire debate is a sad affair as the consensus is: If she is above the minimum, then she is fine. But the idea of holding her to the higher standards of why a man and a woman should consummate, never even entered the debate. By these old, traditional, out-dated, standards, what she did is obviously reprehensible....unless she marries the old git:)

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

What a rip off she's average looking and she doesn't even have a nice Brazillian bum !?! No this is not right at all, if a man is surrounded by a country of beautiful Japanese ladiaes and you are paying three quarters of a million dollars just to be the first in the pool ... you have waaaayyy too much money and a serious lack of imagination.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's still disgusting, but not surprising in this day and age

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Offering sexual favors for money is solicitation - even if you're a virgin. Actually GIVING those sexual favors for money is prostitution - even if you're a virgin. This TV show producer is guilty of pandering since he's the one who arranged the deal.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

All i got out of this article was that my bid came up just $799,999 short.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Practically, I wonder if he has considered insurance to get a - at least partial - refund in case of a temporary malfunction? Because she really is not that hot...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's a prostitution after all but I can't blame that poor girl because she wants to escape from poor. $ 780,000 price for Virgin? The guy who won the auction must be sex crazy and he let down all Japanese men. Work out on the plane, so she doesn't need to pay tax to any Government, by the way.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Wouldn't it make more financial sense to enjoy 780 women at $1,000 a pop (pun intended)

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Wow, my question is will it be protected sex or is he going to try and get her pregnant on the first try and in doing so maybe pass on an STD that she's never had before considering she's supposed to be "chaste". This is going to be hilarious. I do kind of wonder how things panned out for the guy that sold his virginity for $3000 though... stereotypical perception of an experienced Brazilian woman makes me think he will leave her bedroom in tears feeling sullied and used like a cheap tissue.

I am kind of curious about the "before" and "after" thing though. Although I think its better to give it to someone you at least have some love for instead of the highest bidder.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's in Australia. There is no guilt when there is no law against it.

Talk about easy money...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

*Hey guys! Rather than stressing so much and so many outrageous comments on this issue, I find very intriguing and come a conclusion that THIS MAY BE A HOAX or just everyone who is involved in this article (the 20-girl, the Japanese man-winner, the 15 other bidders) and of course most importantly the producer of the VIRGIN WANTED movie, it's nothing but a PUBLICITY STUNT to promote this so-called movie. The producer could've paid everyone $10,000 each and/or royalty depending on the success of the movie???

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Well, it's a bit of a shame to lose one's virginity that way, depending on how you look at it, but given this woman's outlook I say good for her -- NICE payday!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Again, so many think that it is within their purview to say whether two adults should do something that they want to do that hurts nobody else.

Let grown folks live.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

When someone has strated, it will become trend or fashion. Many young girls will follow her footsteps for escaping poverty or funding their college fee. There will be auction web site for sale of virginity instead of goods. However someone who got the easy money will never sustain their wealth. Most of the immatured girls got broke after making the fortune. Prosperity comes from talent and wisdom. Not from trading the body.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

male virginity sold for $3,000

how do you tell if he hasn't done it before? It's difficult enough to tell if women are still maidens these days.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A fool and his money are soon parted. If she uses the money wisely the girl will be set up for life and it's hard to criticise her for that. She is decidedly average-looking and seems to have got the better end of the deal by far, although we haven't seen what state the bloke is in.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Cheaper than most marriages. And little difference.

So true. Probably the best quote on this issue!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@ Combinibento - you say:

this is a good looking girl with a body Natsu is not likely to find in Japan very easily

Good looking is matter of opinion. I see many 'better looking' women than this very ordinary Brazilian on my way to work in Tokyo every day. As for body - maybe you just like them wobbly and fat. "Natsu" probably just wants something different for a change - it's likely to be quite a disappointment however.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Picture? so what? Not like geting paid for sex is unusual.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anybody who disagrees with this is either

Fundamentalist Christians may indeed disagree but many would argue that this is a Women's Rights issue in that it's her body and therefore her choice and her choice only.

Why do posters here think they can tell her what she can and cannot do with her body?

Moreover, it can be argued that the money is going to a good cause, namely charity.

How many of you have donated $780,000 to charity this year, let alone in your lifetime.

If this trend gains traction it could prove to be a windfall opportunity for young well-meaning women in the world to make a meaniful contribution to the charity of their choice and no harm done because it's between two consenting adults.

I can think of a lot worse things being sold for a lot less money.

Somebody needs glasses I do believe. Nowhere in the article does it state that she was going to donate $780,000, she said she planned to donate PART of the money to charity.

I wonder what she looks like? I've met some virgins in my life that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

Google her name.

There is no question as to weather she is a prostitute as prostitution is not a relative term (pros·ti·tu·tion/ˌprästəˈt(y)o͞oSHən/Noun: The practice or occupation of engaging in sex with someone for payment.). So, no need to continue debating that point.

So, you are saying that doing something one time constitutes practice (prac·tice    [prak-tis], verb: to exercise or pursue as a profession, art, or occupation: to practice law.) or occupation (oc·cu·pa·tion, [ok-yuh-pey-shuhn], noun: a person's usual or principal work or business, especially as a means of earning a living; vocation: Her occupation was dentistry. )

You have somewhat low standards for professional.

Well, sure...but really, what difference would that make? No one here is claiming that they don't believe it could happen.

My ex worked in a ryokan and was offered a million yen to do the deed.

She refused but I wonder what the Brazilian chick would go for second time round?

Big difference between about 12 grand and 800 grand.

Kurisupisu:

" My ex worked in a ryokan and was offered a million yen to do the deed. "

Yeah. 1 million yen. Would she have refused for 60 million yen? That is a heck of a difference, Your call... you decide. But citing 1 million is pointless.

Interesting. After decades of hearing that sex is natural and no big deal, and that men and women are equal, some guy is willing to pay hundreds of thousands to take a woman's virginity. And no doubt he beat many others who were willing to pay.

And in another article, millions of women go crazy over a book about the totally unequal sexual relationship between an older rich man who totally dominates a young virgin.

Face it. Men and women are different.
