He added that countries removed from the entry ban list would be expected to reciprocate.

Yeah, I would ONLY reciprocate if Japan agrees to openly allow testing of anyone, even without any symptoms!

Will there be a two week quarantine?

Japan has not been doing enough testing like other countries,so how do they want other countries to reciprocate?

Im sure they will want to shove the narrative that they've had fewer cases down the throats of foreign countries. But because they've not been tested how would they know?

Makes sense.

"Business people", does it mean someone who has CoE (Certificate of Eligibility) to work in Japan?

China too?

This govt is money driven. I have a feeling nations with money/trade hooks with Japan will get priority.

So yeah, I think China will be given the green light first even though they're probably the last country that should be considered.

When I think of 'buisness people' I think of those that don't wear masks (because you want to communicate well and clearly when trying to make a deal), they want to shake hands, have meetings, meet many different people and travel to many different countries. Just the type of people who probably spread Covid-19 around in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure tourists can be just as likely to not wear masks, but I can see how many "business men and women " will feel pressure to show their face, and visa versa with the Japanese business people.

This is assuming anyone from abroad wants to come to Japan in the first place.

And for those non-Japanese who are living here, just hope your loved ones back home are ok. If you need to attend a funeral or any emergency, once you leave, you'll be locked out until god knows when. I don't know of any other country that has locked out their own residents. I know HK has also helped bring back some Pakistanis even though some tested positive on arrival. Frankly, I feel safer in HK than in Japan, riots aside.

Businesspeople from places like the US, EU and China should be the very last allowed in. Those nations have exported untold virus cases around the world.

In the average Japanese working couple, the husband works and commutes three hours longer than the wife if she's a seishain or (more likely if there are kids) five hours longer if she isn't . Of course he's not going to "split the work at home equally". The question should be why is the man out of the home 13.3 hours a day. Remember that this means that women too have to be out of the home 13.3 hours a day to reach equality with men in the workplace.

See table 1 in this pdf.

In my experience, many Japanese women do not care that their husband is at work all the time. In fact they probably prefer it. I don't think tanshin funin would happen in a culture where wives rejected it. Again, to be equal with men, Japanese working women will have to accept themselves being transferred to Kyushu when the company feels like it.

..... While planning is good, I don't think tourists are going to be flocking to air travel for a while so likely still wont be many planes flying around...….

Lets hope Japan can use some common sense on the rebound for this thing.....tall order I know, but would be nice for a change.

Will they let chinese business men or women from mainland China also enter Japan?

My opinion is to ban everyone from China until it is clear where the Virus was originated.

So far everything looks like it came from China.

So the whole world should set a strict measure against China until they proove that the Virus didn't originate in their Laboratories.
