Japan has no culture of its own? You must be kidding. That's pretty funny. Japan's culture is millenniums old. US culture is at most 7 centuries old. But you knew that. You sure are a card. Those haunted houses most grown ups make fun of. Me, too, but I am startled a lot. When I was a kid I only went in when the other kids did. I didn't want to be made fun of. When I went in with my daughter when she was seven we both had a really good time. But I still steer clear of them now.

The modern US culture is less than 600 years, starting from the Pilgrim, but if you include native American it probably just as long as Japanese

A suggestion JT, how about hyperlinking referred to content in other articles?

You mentioned the number of deaths due to heatstroke and this summer being the hottest record. Both of those have individual articles which could be hyperlinked for those interested. - My two cents

That’s the dumbest idea ever, not only do I hate haunted houses but I would also be so annoyed from the heat outside I would punch the first thing that jumps at me.
