What this article doesn't tell you is that 17 fighter jets accompanied this 4 bomber formation, 15 from China and 2 from Russia.

Russia and China is overwhelming Japan's ability to intercept and make such patrol a fact on ground just like how China did it with Taiwan.

Dear Japan, if you want to put an end to this problem, stop playing military exercises with the west in which they are using you just like they are doing with Ukraine

Look to the East where you belong and make great and REAL alliances..

Hi. Do you have data on how many planes were scaramled

*scrambled to intercept?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Yes, there is access to data. It’s not like we could share our sources though.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

I myself don't always ask for sources when talking to people

Doesn't Russia have enough to do just staying alive in Ukraine?

With China? No way. The big boss on the other side of the Pacific won’t allow that to happen.

China's air patrols with Russia spark Japanese security concerns

As I'm sure opening a NATO (North ATLANTIC Treaty Organisation) office in Japan does in Beijing and Moscow.

Russia & China . . . Birds of a feather flock together.

It's crucial for Japan to be prepared for potential attacks from Russia and China due to national security concerns, historical disputes, evolving geopolitical dynamics, the importance of deterrence, and commitments to its alliance with the United States.

Being ready helps protect Japanese territory, citizens, and interests, reinforces sovereignty, contributes to regional stability, and acts as a deterrent against potential aggression.

Japan's air and sea patrols with the US worry's China.

Well action and reaction.

Japan if worry should ask USA why their planes worry China/DPRK?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Thank you China and Russia. Thank you for helping Japan sell the Defense build up to the Japanese people.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Japan have US nuclear umbrella and tens of thousands of US soldiers at its soil so why to worry?

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

I’m surprised nobody dumped fuel on or flew recklessly around this joint Chinese/Russian patrol.

I suppose professional pilots don’t do that sort of thing.

More military training, no news. China's clearly anxious to try out its new Russian hypersonic capabilities. For any that foolishly believe missile defense will work.

Hopefully, all can recognize futility of War, with enough mutual deterrence, need for guard-rails and start focusing on more productive safer activities together!

Humans will never do that....theyre just not intelligent enough !

Bases in Canada are controversial now? And about the others it must be tough getting up in the morning being worried about something that has been the case for 70 years.

Damn right, last time DPJ tried that when in power they were soft "regime changed " out. Thanks Uncle Sam.

No I said Canadian aircraft in the SCS, but I believe that they are also operating out of Japan. For 70 years ? I don't think that most of what I said has been in place for 70 days let alone 70 years. But you bring up a good point. For 70 years that agreement between the US and China over Taiwan has kept the peace, if peace is important to the US, Japan etc, why then are they changing the status quo ? And no, China has not threatened to invade Taiwan but they have said that use of military force is an option should Taiwan declare independence.

Is this not innocence passage??? Freedom of navigation??? Where international laws allow?? Just in the air. Wait till the Chinese built more carriers, then it will be Guam, perhaps, Hawaii here we come, it will not be for vacation.

Both South Korea and Japan scrambled fighter jets on Tuesday, when the Chinese and Russian joint patrols got underway as part of their militaries' annual cooperation plan.

Notice what didn't happen - the South Korean and Japanese scrambled fighter jets didn't create any dangerous unprofessional maneuvers

Just shadow; no incidents. Everybody got home safe; everybody can learn from that
