China reins in rowdy anti-Japan demonstrations

The old Mukden Incident?? Never even heard of it but if fools want to keep going bonkers and protest against Japan for any off the wall reason, well I am sure China with all that security may indeed start calming the protestors down, but then what?? What will happen if they start again but not against Japan, but against Beijing?? Against all the corruption? Against the inequalities that are making just a handful of Chinese filthy rich while the vast majority live like peons??

Japan has been ignoring their past imperial squanders for a long time and obviously the rest of Asia has a longer memory than the Japanese. Now, they have these imperial twits like the ishihara's and that right wing nut case in osaka stirring up trouble again. Is there any wonder the rest of Asia is peeved at Japan? they have done nothing to atone for their grievances in the first half of last century except to deny it happened. I live in Japan, but I hate their boligerent defiance of the attrocities they committed in the first half of last century. Their past is gonna come back to haunt them and it is gonna come back with avengence.

The state wanted them to protest, but now the state wants to stop them.

But how can one stop uncivilized uncouth robots without using force?

It is time Japan told it's people and it's Corporation to leave China for good and let them eat each other.

I am pretty sure India and most of Southeast Asia would be greatful to see the Japanese there.

LOOOL, for days c-gov said absolutely nothing to those criminals screaming "boycott japanese products!!!" vandalizing and destroying japanese supermarkets etc and at the same time stealing those products is hilarious and pathetic. At a time when there is a "real" threat to the safety and wellbeing of Japan who is our host, senseless and emotional outbursts and opinions do not help or add to the forum and discussions. As in the USA, Japan allows for free speech, so you have all the right to do so. However, lets put everything in proper perspective and come up with meaningful, well researched and evaluated contributions from which we may all gain better insight and help find solutions to the situation.

Circumstances and existing conditions and environment already exists, past is past, what we need to find is workable and meaningful solutions based on what we know. To that end, any and all reasonable and well considered suggestions, recommendations and opinions may be appropriate and welcome for discussion and argument.

Should China fail or is only pretending to be doing crowd control according to the gist of this article, the situation writes a different scenario. There was a NEED for US Sec. of Defense Panetta to come to Japan. There was a need for installing a new radar defense system in southern Japan. What does that say about the true China?

Japanese are still at risk in China, and Japan has to protect its citizens should the host country refuse or only pretends to do so.

What is the short term solution? What is the long term solution? How should they be implemented?

WHY?

If China is trying to dampen rising anti-Japan sentiment, I hope China will not send more than 10? of fish man boats this week to Senkaku islands.They supposed to be civilians even if some of them could be pseud civilians,(No evidence but my impression the way they hit Japan coast guard ship a year ago. If an ordinarily man could do that to his a coast guard ship the way it happened.)

This time, if Japan makes even one of them get hurt, we will be criticized by China and the world. But the same time, Japan can not let them be onto Senkaku islands. The same situation, if any foreigner without visa try to cross the US border, US needs to do something even nothing is personal. But as far as I could see those fish mane who were leaving for Senkaku with many many boats on TV news, those fish men did not look normal civilians, they looked so determined and strong. Our coast guard ship may handle a few ships but if more than 10 boats surround our coast guard ship, it will be very difficult do their job with a care to not hurt any Chinese fish man. Also the guardians must protect them self as well.

The Chinese used the boat as a weapon last time. I hope that China is NOT trying Japan to hurt any civilian to capitalize on it to take political advantage. I feel so sorry to our coast guard men need to do their job this time.

Please China, do not let them leave. Please sue Japan at ICJ if China thinks Senkaku are your islands. We must solve the issue with more civilized manner.

Okay, do me a favour and write up something either about being anti-Japan, anti-emperor or anything that questions how foreigners get treated and get back to me abotu how Japan allows freedom of speech.

China, indeed, allowed this to go on too long but you don't think that Japan has allowed the hate from Ishihara to go on too long? This man caused all this to happen and he's probably sitting back in Tokyo enjoying the show and patting himself on the back for it. It is disgusting and why Japan isn't taking HIM to task (yet again on his shocking behaviour and comments) is beyond me. Oh wait, it is always someone elses fault, never a Japanese person.

This is comedy gold. The Chinese have attacked a Samsung plant thinking it was Japanese, and a Mercedes Benz factory thinking it was Mitsubishi. I intend to mock them hugely in my next J-List posting.

Cooler heads needs to get on top of this before it deteriorates into a showdown on the high seas. The Chinese leadership, perhaps diverted by its ongoing leadership squabbles, would be well advised to take heed of the large number of Mao Zedong placards on display among Chinas dissaffected urban youth. Failure to recognise that this is a shot across the bow against corruption associated with Chinas lurch to greed is good economics will only boomerang back against them. Japan, for its part, needs to show patience and forebearance in this testing time; not succumb to the temptation to allow its own population to emulate those Chinese mob scenes nor inflame the situation with provocative statements of intent to end the economic relationship and go into full Cold War mode.

And it doesn't stop there. A friend reading the Japanese news just told me an idiot in Japan burnt a car in retaliation for the anti-Japanese riots in China. The funny thing is, he did this in front of the Russian embassy!!!!! Don't know how true this report is but maybe you could mock him too ;p
