The neighbor from hell. Are they claiming the entire Sea of Japan now because it's been indisputably theirs since "ancient times"?

China is a supplier of manufactured goods, but not a friend. They only understand a world that is completely subject to their terms and conditions.

Crazy Joe is right. Beyond the borders of China is a growing Sinosphere. That is why those ships entered Japanese waters. At the other end there is now Putin's Russia looking to reclaim its own unique civilization as one separate from Europe. Russians see Crimea and Ukraine as part of their own. There is the theory of a resurgent Anglosphere which may or may not include the United States. If it does, it accounts for more than one-quarter of the world’s GDP. Looking at it this way, would you consider Japan a "lapdog ally" or a country making a shrewd alliance?

It's not like this was not seen coming.  China has been an aggressive nation for years, say back to "ancient china" and as long as there is no one to stand up and challenge or meet It up front it will only continue to expand.  That is they way it has always been.  The US under Trump has not shown any muscle other than bark bark bark, though more than hot air like Obama, no action no play until a hard line stand is made.  Just because a Chinese ship, or plane is say "accidently" shot down, it will be more careful on where it treads as the message will be received.  The peace loving b'sing is over.  IT is time for actions to speak louder than roads as history has proven time and time again.

I wouldn't worry too much ATM. They aren't as strong as the US and Japan together and are basically just trolling and seeing if people will back down.

Time to send in the Maritime Self Defense Force. If this provocation is not checked next time it will be the Peoples Navy.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

If Japanese ships did this in China's waters they would of been sunk or boarded and hauled is as War Crimes.

The Japanese So called self defense forces could not defend themselves against a fly. They are a disgrace as ABE is also. How much more before Japan is taken over by China. Yes close all the bases in Okinawa and Onaga will usher in the new Chinese era and declare that Okinawa is part of China. Japan needs to stand up and stop these Commies from running over asia. Best word for the JSDF is The Japanese Chicken Farm Forceless.

The Japanese forces don't have experience shooting anymore, but they are the best equipped and trained force in the world.  Real prosperity and real peace in Japanese society creates the best conditions for the attainment of top level research, happiness, etc.  No comparison to the brainwashed N Korean soldiers parading like 1930's fascists

the best equipped and trained force in the world.

Funny, I've always been told that about the British army.

And the Irish/American/Canadian/German/ Russian/Chinese/Zulu armies.

Let's hope we never have to find out the truth...

The more the World buys "Chinese Junk" they will continue to try and show their muscle! What I say is never ever buy anything made in China.

The Chinese are seeing how much they can push their luck before a provocation.

Time for Japan to do freedom of navigation cruses through the South China sea. Do this one for one.

Every incursion of Chinese ships into Japanese waters earns a freedom of navigation cruse through the South China Sea. They will soon understand the correlation.

I do agree with you, and I'm also concerned that in 10-20 years China will be stronger than the US and its allies militarily.

But at the same time you call Abe a disgrace, yet he is the one who is trying to make it so Japan actually can protect itself (which I support).

If Chinese ships have not been seen there before we have to ask why now?

Last week Okinoshima was designated a World Heritage Site, so, say no more!

When we think Article 9 is enough, Abe wants to revise Constitution. Then Chinese war ships invade Japanese sea area. I wonder Japan has better spy system than CIA. Abe ignores his popularity goes down. Seems he does not believe US is in Japan to protect Japan. Many Japanese think US forces are in Japan for money Japan pay every year.

The rule is "OCCUPANCY".

Laws and paper rights do not confirm or assure "possession".., occupancy does. So GO OCCUPY Japan. Use force and if necessary, send troops to camp out on those islands as training centers with artillery and tanks, till proper facilities can be built. Have a fishing port with a cannery.., if anyone cares. Occupy and use...

It will definitely take a military conflict to recover those islands occupied by S. Korea and even those by China in the China Sea.

But without such action, there will always be opening for doubt and unnecessary conflict.

That is not aggression, just a WISE move.

We have the right to defend Japan against Korean and Peoples Republic of China agression.

Kazetsukai, "So GO OCCUPY Japan."

What do you mean?

Are you telling China or another power to go and occupy the whole of Japan?

Or are you wanting to tell Japan to go occupy its own thousands of islands, as in "GO Japan, and OCCUPY!" (?)

Another one of those alarmist China bashing news that makes even President Donald Trump cringe in agony!

International law allows the passage of all ships, including military vessels, in other nations' territorial waters.
