A man and a woman were injured after their car went off the third level of a shopping mall car park in Itabashi, Tokyo, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Tokyo Fire Department, the accident occurred at around 2 p.m. at the Aeon mall. NTV reported that the car crashed through a barrier on the third level and fell to the ground.
The man and woman, both in their 70s, suffered head and chest injuries and were taken to hospital. The man is in a coma, while the woman is in a stable condition, police said.

I agree. The barriers in the car park can't even hold back a relatively slow-moving car?! Major design failure!

@ Papi- Exactly what happened. If you saw the news coverage, it was quite obvious. Normal speed inside a parking garage is maybe 10km/h or so. Their car went right through the wall and landed a good ways from the building. So, its not like they poked through and slipped over the edge.
