It must be very hard for all the epidemiologists and doctors to repeatedly warn about what is going to happen and how much is necessary for everybody to work together to prevent it, just for the national government to ignore them and do exactly the contrary until it happens.

"caution against predicting the contagion pattern seen in Hokkaido", why not? If you stay in an enclosed environment and the virus is inside, you will get sick.
The only sure way to attack this is by testing and testing and testing. I can not understand why it is so difficult to get the gov implement it. Testing is way cheaper than having half the businesses closing down.
egads man!
And this explains Japan in a nutshell.

Is your work office also dry air and warm??? Time to buy a humidifier or everyone turn off your heaters! No..everyone should be getting tested and treated not sweeping this pandemic under the rug.

Turn off the Aircon heaters that blow hot air down on people and put on a jacket.

I live in Asahikawa. My kids were born (albeit years ago) at the same hospital that had the clusters. One of my students at my eikaiwa, his mother works at Kosei Hospital, but she said everything is fine there. The news likes to embellish a bit I would say. There are definitely more cases here, but the health system is not at "near collapse" as the article has stated. But what do I know... ;)

HEPA air purifiers and humidifiers are cheap and filter viral particles

According to the Japanese government, the numbers peaking means it's time to extend the Go To Campaign and start allowing more people into the region and easing restrictions. At least, that's what they're doing at a national level.

Living here for many years, nothing has changed.

In Hokkaido, the winter is closing in!!!
Really, and it is getting cold there? That really comes as a surprise, there was no way to anticipate this in advance and for this very reason there was no way to prepare for this coming.
What get those so-called experts payed for? And one more question, what do countries that experience real winters every year do?
EvilBuddha
Been to Hokkaido a few years back in the month of March and it was pretty cold for someone coming from a tropical country like mine.

Testing will lead to straining of the medical system, it is like having a car and not driving it for fear that the tires will get worn,

No info about the clusters in kobe and himeji. Kobe mikage high school 10 teachers and 3 students,
Himeji chuo byoin 46 people, kobe asahi byoin 49 people.
There are many clusters happening all over the country that are not reported.

It’s winter starting. Of course people will get sick. But I think Hokkaido people are very strong. Only problem is many are old.
