putting them in coffins surrounded by chainsaw-wielding zombies.

Funny but interesting idea...

Drive in Horror Show...and getting poked with fake hands.

This is only possible in Japan.

Might be a good idea, I'll give it a try, LOL.

Seems like it would be good for a laugh.

One Halloween when I was in college me and a couple of friends went to one of those 'haunted houses'. A 'monster' rushed out towards us 3 and I punched him right in the head. I apologized right after I realized what I did instinctively. The last scene scared my two friends but not mr really. There was a 'bloodied' decapitated baby doll, graffiti written in fake blood and a 'Jason' with a fake chainsaw. I instinctively acted to give him a martial arts kick but I caught myself in the midst of it, realizing that it wasn't real.

We descended the exit ramp and I was a total gigglebox.

Apparently still reacting with “instincts” instead of reason by telling us this story, as any 10 year old would have “realized” that nothing is real in a haunted house.

Finding the pandemic scary? A Japanese group is trying to take people's minds off COVID-19 - by putting them in coffins surrounded by chainsaw-wielding zombies.

So people with stress from a deadly pandemic are being put in coffins as stress relief?!?!

This is only possible in Japan.

I agree.

Right? It's only scary on the news. Switch it off and look around...

I suppose for some it's not much different than trying to sleep in a capsule hotel downtown while the zombies rush to work, so it's soothing to be back to normal. For anyone else, I'm going to go ahead and guess that being put in a coffin while the very real threat of illness and death is all around is not the greatest stress relief idea.

As Japan experiences a COVID-19 upswing

All the masks aren't working.

Har!

Haiku, a great Japanese poetic form, would be better for stress relief:

COVID in a box

Zombie

Starts chainsaw

A coffin is one of the last places I want to be for stress relief.

Reminds me of a Japanese method to deal with heat stroke. We have ghost houses like in theme parks to scare and shock people for a small fee.

“Right? It's only scary on the news. Switch it off and look around...”

I have, and I see a world wrecked by fear mongering
