The imperial family has stated many times they want Kei's mother to set the record straight in public about the money and she refuses to do so. She must be hiding something bad, either that or her pride is more important than her son's future. Not a trustworthy family.

Give the other suitors a chance. She’s not getting any younger.

and bring joy to those who have supported their growth up till now."

Kind of a selfish thing for a mother to say.

Once she gets Married to a Common person then she's no longer part of the Royal Household... so what's the fuss about Money etc.... she has nor gets any/much. She becomes like the rest of us, relegated to the ranks of us plebs.... or... are we not being told something ?

Because the chances are, there isn't going to be a marriage.

This may not happen in the western world of individualism even if they are members of the royal families. They fell in love and others oppose their marriages.

Foul, and exactly why women in Japan are valued less than men.

including speculating on my daughter's feelings," the crown princess said in a statement.

You don't speak with your daughter enough to know her feelings? Sweet parenting.

'She's thinking through a lot of things'... like how she'll have to get up early every day to cook his breakfast before he goes to work, how she will have to clean the toilet after him, how she'll have to wash his tighty whities, how she will have to wait up late at night while he's out drinking with his coworkers,...

Last year Princess Ayako was 'gifted' with over a million dollars of taxpayer money to help her ease into life as a commoner. I assume Princess Mako will receive a similar gift. I'm sure that hasn't escaped Komuro's mother's attention.

I've never understood why the son doesn't just pay his mother's ex-boyfriend back. It doesn't matter if she considered it a gift, or if the guy is lying. Pay him back. Put an end to the BS. Cut him out of your lives, and move on.

This whole thing is so much bigger than a petty spat with an ex. And, I think the princess' parents are thinking that exact thing.

No. She is saying she prefers not to spill out all her and her daughter's most personal feeling to satisfy the cravings of ordinary people who have nothing better to do than criticize the parenting skills of more successful people they will never meet

How does being a member of a royal family make one successful?
