Chiba prefectural police said Saturday that the remains of about 50 chickens were found along a three-kilometer stretch of highway between Narita and Katori.
According to police, the chickens were noticed on National Route 51 at around 6:30 p.m. Friday, NTV reported.
Authorities scooped up the remains of the birds which had been run over several times.
Police believe the chickens must have fallen off the back of a truck from a farm or meat processing plant.

So why DID the chicken cross the road?

No indication of fowl play, but that's got to ruffle your feathers.

I'm glad they cleaned it up cos so many chickens would left a very foul smell.

Dead dogs get outrage and disgust. Dead chickens get only jokes. Sad.

The death of chickens and dogs is sad, but the early termination of humans is a common accepted practice.
