Death of man found in Fukushima Pref river ruled suicide

Police in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, said Sunday that a man whose body was found floating in a river most likely committed suicide.

A passerby spotted the body floating in the Ose River at around noon on Friday and called 110.

Police said an autopsy showed that the man, whose mouth was covered with duct tape, had drowned and that his body had been in the water for several days, Fuji TV reported. There were no external signs of injury on the body of the man who was in his late 20s and lived in Koriyama, police said. His name has not been released.

Furthermore, a suicide note was found, police said, without saying where.

'Suicide'.

The police in Koriyama are quite lazy, it seems.....

The old "shot himself two times in the back of the head" type suicide.

I wonder if the “suicide” note was typed and signed...”the deceased”?

Suicide by drowning is not very common.

The guys mouth was taped and it's a suicide?

Er, how are his lungs filled with water if his mouth is taped shut?

Nose?

I am assuming there are more clues than reported. I sure hope so. Just by reading the article I would not believe it was suicide.

Suffocation by occlusion of the nose and mouth with duct tape as a method of suicide is more common than people know. What a terrible way to die. Poor young man.

Er, how are his lungs filled with water if his mouth is taped shut?

Or did he tape his mouth shut after he inhaled all that water?

How could a man whose mouth is duct taped and thrown into a river with legs and hands tied (possibly) be ruled suicide? Lazy detective work.

Are people not reading or what? There’s no physical injury and his feet or hands are not tied. You can also duct tape your own mouth.

How can someone drown an untied person at the river with only his mouth sealed without inflicting injury?
