The driver of a large truck was killed after his vehicle went off a bridge and plunged 40 meters into a ravine in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Monday.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 3 a.m. Monday. Fuji TV reported that the truck exploded as it hit the bottom of the ravine. It was carrying 80 drums of polytetramethylene ether glycol, an inflammable liquid.
Police said it appears the truck failed to take a curve and crashed through a guardrail.© Japan Today
