Was just reading about this on another site, which quoted it as being a mag 6. Been a lot of strong earthquakes down that way in recent years. How many reactors are in those prefectures? A dozen or more? What a great idea!

Do the hustle, they use two scales here, 6 minus on the 振動'Shindo' scale, which may be the actual shaking felt on the surface and 5.1 magnitude which could be the power at the epicenter. Not sure on this without looking it up, though!!! :8)

My original plans would've had me in that area. Glad that I changed them now!

No big deal in downtown Kumamoto, but its location is troubling, not on any known fault line. My guess is that the Beppu-Haneyama fault complex extends further west than understood. But time will tell.
