The Tokyo Board of Education has fired the 63-year-old principal of an elementary school in Tokyo over sexual harassment accusations.
The principal, whose name was not revealed, is accused of continuously harassing a female teacher between May 2015 and June this year, Board of Education representatives said. He had allegedly touched her buttocks at the school and restaurants, had attempted to kiss her and take photos of her with his camera, Sankei Shimbun quoted board officials as saying.
The case came to light after the teacher consulted the school’s vice principal in June.
The principal was quoted by the Board of Education as saying that he “had special feelings” for the teacher.© Japan Today
