Environmental impact....sheesh! it's Tokyo! There's no 'environment' left!

This would be awesome!!

Keisei can't be too happy about this, though.

Wonder if they will decommission the monorail when this is done?

Getting to Haneda from western Tokyo is a major pain. Local line, then Yamanote and then Keikyu, all jammed with commuters, or the bus from Shinjuku. Ugh. The monorail route takes forever.

Narita is waaay better, thanks to its fast, dedicated rail links.

You can take the bus from Tachikawa station to Haneda. Takes about an hour and a half and costs 1500 yen.

don't know who decided for us that 'faster is better', or why.... but in any case, if they go ahead, I trust they'll get their act together better than last time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Monorail#History

I live in Kansai, don’t like Tokyo and will never go there again. But my tax money will go to a rail company?

JR East has already conducted a boring survey at Haneda airport

Refreshingly honest appraisal of the survey.

Japan has the most famous train in the world -- the shinkansen -- and it's had more than 50 years to find a way to use it to service its international airports. The present situation, in which it depends on a hodgepodge of competing rail and bus services to transport international passengers, is outrageous and shameful.

Yeah, how dare they not have made it perfect the first time. How dare they.

By 2029 when this is done we should already be able to teleport ourselves to where we want to go.
