A 79-year-old man and his 52-year-old daughter were found dead at their house in Daito City, Osaka, on Sunday afternoon, police said Monday, adding that the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Shigeo Takda and his daughter Kinuko were found by police around 1:50 p.m. after neighbors reported a strong odor coming from the house. Police found Shigeo dead on the second floor of the house and Kinuko lying near the front door. Police said they appeared to have been dead for several days.

Dead in separate parts of the house? Murder? Suicide? Why are there rarely any follow up articles here?

Could have been accidental. My mom and two sisters were overcome, and nearly died when their newly-installed furnace leaked exhaust into the house. Thank God Mom came to and dragged them out of the house.
