by mother, do you mean birth mother?

if so, shame on you.

If not, then thank goodness there are so many loving families waiting to adopt and give those babies a loving home to grow up in, instead of the likely outcome of a baby being born to a person unwilling to love that baby.

Mother is a birthright if possible.

If the mother is in despeeate situation, better to have foster mother. If mother wishes to recover baby, of course she should be helped.

I'm a big fan of every helpless, innocent baby being embraced by the loving arms of it's mother.

A mother is a birthright, is it not?

Life conditions for every one of the 8 billion people in this planet are not just black or white. There's a ton of gray in between. Options should be available when that gray area is not the very best. Or would you prefer the mother gives birth in her dorm, to then bury the baby's body in the building's backyard?

Also, parent is not the one that makes the baby. Is the one that takes care of that creature and as you said, gives that baby unlimited and unconditional love, care and attention.

No-one would claim having a baby hatch is an ideal solution for an ideal world. The whole thing is a damage limitation exercise. It should therefore be judged on whether it brings about a better result for a mother and child in a very difficult situation. It should not be judged on whether it satisfies Article 4, Paragraph 3 of the Family Code in the big rulebook pertaining to the Family Register.

The city government, however, said it doubts whether registration of a child with an anonymous mother can be legally accepted due to a lack of such precedents and related laws.

It's a system that worked for many centuries in Europe .

Feel really sorry for the innocent babies deprived of motherly love.

Every person born deserves the love of their mother.

So, not a big fan of adoption?

Better born and stay alive than thrown into the toilet ring.

If I were a young woman alone, I might be scared and that way could help me get through it.

Possibility of course to gain back the child when situation has cleared.

Japan is medieval while its demography is down the drain.

Feel really sorry for the innocent babies deprived of motherly love.

Feel sorry for victims of rape and abuse, who are told by men that they should relive the trauma of their ordeal every day, and carry the result of a violent assault full term.

referring to a baby as it.... try the following next time it might help not demean your argument.

innocent babies being embraced by the loving arms of their mothers.

And if the mother is unwilling or unable to love the baby? (rape babies)

You are making an assumption that every mother should love her baby but that is not always the case and some women never want the child to ever be able to contact them and they may not have been able to afford an abortion especially the young.

At least this way they can move on without a constant reminder and not become criminals.

I am all for it, and I think the Japanese government should get more involved in helping people and providing more to help publicise the different health issues and how to get support as other countries do.

and they can if adopted to a loving family, 10s thousand of successful adoptions around the world.

unless governments allow women the rights to be anonymous, then women will continue to give birth in secret and dump babies

A mother is a birthright, is it not?

Yes. Yes, it is.

by mother, do you mean birth mother?

if so, shame on you.

Shame?? Shame on someone for suggesting that an infant has a birthright to a birth mother? Wow!

Of course having anyone to love and take care of you is a good thing, but does not take away from that infant's birthright!

A mother's inability to take care of her child does not negate the child's birthright.

No one here knows the reasons why these ladies decide to use such facility. However, I applaud them and the hospital for having such options. There needs to be more support.

So many guys ‘mansplaining’ women’s rights/ options on here.
